First off I don't understand how a guaranteed blockbuster can ever get stuck in development hell..
Second, I'm sorry but the main reason why I defend Bay so much and why I will see any of his movies, is because of how much I loved the bad boys franchise and the rock, amageddon and a few other movies. So you cant tell me to be excited about a sequel of one of my favorite movies with a new director... I know yall hate bay, but he aint M night or the Wachowski brothers where they have one hit and the rest duds, to be honest I don't even see what yall hate about him, but whatever, that's yall problem :yeshrug:

However if they can atleast get Bruckheimer on board I MAY be ok with it.

He gets hate because two of his 4 Transformers movies were downright TERRIBLE and that raped a lot of people's childhoods...

Other than that I'd dare to say his filmography is solid. He never set out to be Scorsese or Terrence Malik. He's a blockbuster director who does just that.

Probably script then cause Will did see the script and once After Earth happened he was willing to talk..but I'm not surprised if the script for that is meh..but then again aren't they filming that now?

It seems like a rehash of the first story just 20 years later they are coming back for revenge but rumors are wormholes will be used so I don't know if anyone is doing any space travel. But these are "Earth Invasion" movies. Yeah they just started filming in New Mexico last month. I don't know if it was script or Roland comments or whatever but Will decided to go to "Suicide Squad" instead. 50 Million for Two Independence Day sequels isn't unreasonable honestly.

yea from that standpoint I can understand, but to say it isn't a gaurenteed hit is ridiculous...

But I will say if it never comes out I wouldn't care, cause 2 was enough and to be honest Martin hasn't been funny to me since the second one..

Michael Bay spoke on it himself a few years back. Basically the studios at the TIME didn't want to pay Both his and Will's salaries, the studios were losing a lot of money and that's what the hold up on Rush Hour 4 was as well, the studio didn't want to pay Chris Tucker 20 million and then pay Jackie Chan on the back-end. Studios wanted to put money into CGI effects driven franchise movies (like Transformers) and pay the actors and directors as less as possible

I feel like Will made the better pick. For all we know, it could've came down to doing a sequel to something he already did or doing something brand new for him.

Especially the second one. It was awful AND offensive. Not even prime Megan Fox was saving it.

That and a bigger return on investment. They care more about foreign markets now

I have a funny feeling about Bad Boys 3. I believe it won't top over part 1 and part 2. The history has spoken for itself.

The Godfather Trilogy

The Mariachi Trilogy

The Marix Trilogy

The Blade Trilogy

Austin Powers Trilogy

Rush Hour Trilogy

Terminator Triolgy

Batman Triolgy (Beings, Dark Knight, Rises)

And what make you think that Bad Boys 3 will do great as the first two?.

well for one those were planned stories breh and some weren't...to me, a trilogy is a set of movies that tell one story and a couple on that list don't qualify.

The only one I think that movie able to pulled it out is Lethal Weapon 1, 2, 3, 4. Everybody loves Lethal Weapon films and none of them are whack.

3rd one has its moments and i know the 4th one doesn't have a good rep critically but yeah..I'd also say Back to the Future is solid across the board. 1st Star Wars Trilogy

Noticed you don't have LORD OF THE RINGS: RETURN OF THE KING on the trilogy list. Many think the 3rd movie is the best. Personally I like the first one the best. But the 3rd movie is damn strong and won an Oscar.

You get my point but I don't want to list more trilogy movies list like I said the history has spoken for itself.

Nobody likes Back to the Future 3 but they sure love part 1 and part 2....see my point?

Scream Trilogy. Scream first is a def classic, Screamn 2 is good but Scream 3 is worst....IMO, they should have stopped at Scream first.

Spider Man played by Tobey...everybody loves part 1, part 2 but hate part 3.....see my point?

Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.....they love part 1, part 2 but part 3 was weak

Alien, Aliens, Alien 3.......see my point?

The Evil Dead Trilogy

IMO.....Indiana Jones, Lethal Weapon were able to pulled it off cause it wasn't meant to be planned stories as "One"

Original Star Wars Trilogy and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy are def classic and no question about it.....they're just perfect because they were meant to be "One" as the planned.
