Not of fan of part 2 but hopefully they get 3 off the ground.

Will didn't do "Independence Day" cause the director disrespected him saying he was "To Big now" for the movie them tried to come crying back after the fact saying "We wrote two scripts, one with Will and one without". That's disrespectful in itself. "Bad Boys" is an easy Blockbuster for him to do and he should of done it years ago but he took like four years off. Now his offers are even more through the roof. "Suicide Squad" is looking better than I expected based on some of the filming leaks. I actually think Will should of been in "Independence Day 2" cause that would of been so Epic beyond belief.
Would of done 1 Billion worldwide easy. I understood why he did "MIB 3", that's a global blockbuster. If there's one last sequel to check off Will list, it's "Bad Boys". But the story got to be right. But Will has hand some under performers in the last few years. His NFL movie "Concussion" is a drama so we will have to see how that does. "Suicide Squad" should be a hit now that Joker and Batman are going in it to. So I think this is the perfect time for Will to knock out Bad Boys 3, it could drop Summer 2017 or 2018.
That's not disrespecting Will to say he's too big for it; that's spot on. Will's paycheck is too big for that kinda thing now so he was probably right. It's the same as when Spielberg told the Bond producers they can't afford him after he got really big
Well the first "Independence Day" movie did over 850 Million Worldwide. Independence Day is his most successful movie at the box office till this day. I'm sure the budget for the sequel was going to more than enough to afford Will's 20 Million salary. Plus he would have every right to ask for a bigger check for this sequel since the first film went on to become one of the biggest movies of all time. I don't know what happen behind the scenes but if you going to get Jeff, Bill, Vicica and the rest of the cast back then Will should of been courted to make it a complete reunion.
You still could had the young characters but now they are working with Will. Instead they are doing this "Will's Son is all grown up fighting aliens like his Dad" storyline. Whatever Will's reasons for saying no is his business though. But I think the director went about it wrong. You don't come out and say that about the Lead Star of the movie your trying to bring back. If they were making a Low Budget sequel then you could have an argument about his salary but you know the budget for this will probably be well over 130-150 Million. Also Will took less money for both "Focus" and "Suicide Squad" so it's not like he wouldn't negotiate if they truly wanted him in it.
He doesn't need to do BB3 though especially if "Suicide Squad" is big. Will never going to say it but what does doing a movie with washed up Martin Lawrence do for him? He can make that money anywhere. I'm thinking he chose to be Dead Shot over more recognizable heroes because he could completely take ownership of that character ala Sam Jackson/Nick Fury or RDJ/Stark and make him his own which would then lead to him starting a whole new franchise based completely around Dead Shot .Will didn't do "Independence Day" cause the director disrespected him saying he was "To Big now" for the movie them tried to come crying back after the fact saying "We wrote two scripts, one with Will and one without". It's not about it being a personal diss though. It's about the precedent it sets for his value were he to do the flick after the fact of them saying that. It'll make every other company lowball him cause "damn those guys said he was above their price range and he still did it anyway... he must be hurtin'. " Saying that was just a bad chess move, however accurate it was...He took less money yeah but that was after he was humbled a tad. This sequel has been in development for a while even before the after earth thing (yes I'm calling it a thing) so I do believe that Will probably wanted more at the time and then just decided not to do it. I don't think that's a diss to him to say he's out of their price range, not at all, especially since Emmerich probably wouldn't get the same budget he would've if he was coming off of hit movies
Bad Boys 2 > Bad Boys
Yea I said it.
Action wise, Yes. "Bad Boys 2" is the better movie. But the 90's aesthetic and the comedy/chemistry between in Will and Martin was like watching Martin/Fresh Prince THE MOVIE. It was like the biggest thing in 95 for them to team up. For that Part 1 will always get the nod from me:
Yea I remember when BB 1 came out and we begged mom to rent it. Didn't even get into 5 mins of it and mom said "Too much cursing. We're returning it". I'll never forget going back to Blockbuster and the man at the counter laughing under his breathe at my mom asking for another movie, cause he knew this was the most popular new rental. By the time I got around to seeing it finally, I didn't appreciate it as much as I wanted to. But when 2 came out, I saw that shyt twice in theaters. I guess cause my experience with the first was ruined, I dont hold it up as much as the second.Nah gimme the first one all day everyday

Hey Marty, I just looked up the "Independence Day 2" Budget. It's 200 Million before marketing. Will Salary wasn't an issue and he wasn't "Too Big" for the movie as Roland tried to say.
