Agree, so many internal & resources issues to solve along with major beefs with hostile neighbors.

They rode Russia/USRR nuts for so long and that bet turned out to be a loser

They really gotta get their population numbers down and build up their infrastructure. They could maybe have some cities that look like China's third tier ones in 50-60years if things stay stable.

I guess Canada isn't the land of milk and honey either despite having "free" healthcare.

Society in general has become more antisocial and less kid-focused. Back in the 90's parents used to be able to have family members or trusted neighbors babysit. Now many older family members refuse because they're focused on living their best life, and siblings/neighbors are not having it either due to working 40+ hours a week barely making it and want to enjoy their downtime.

Neighbors live on the same street for years and barely know each other. In the meantime daycare runs $1000+ a month in bigger cities with non-refundable deposits to get on a waitlist. Unless one or both parents has a WFH job or stays at home, its increasingly unrealistic. Unless you have a season pass for these Amusement or Trampoline parks an outing will run you $100+ for a family of 4 everytime. My mom knows not to expect kids from me anytime soon, she needs to accept parenting/lifestyle differences with her oldest daughter to see her grandkids or wait on my other siblings.

What I've also seen over the past five years is older parents 55+ complaining about investors buying homes, but when they are ready to downsize or get the equity out of their home, they sell to investors who contribute to locking younger people out of homeownership. They're really trying to tap into that equity instead of paying down that last 100k so their children have something.

You think the people running the politics and government are shytting in the streets? :comeon:

They just have an insane amount of poor people. But them poor folk are having kids

What people anchor this next superpower title on is their sheer numbers.

they govern over an entire country where they have to shame people into using toilets.....when you haven't even mastered that basic level of sanitary behavior....how can you become a super power?

Mind you, the entire country of India has less gold medals than Michael Phelps :heh:

Not to mention, they're light years behind South Korea,Japan and China.

But yeah, next superpower breh.

Story after story . Article after article. Something is clearly wrong but we're just going to keep making jokes until the point of no return.
population going to be lower (which is kinda a good thing in terms of overpopulation, overconsumption and environmental degradation) but you still need to have more people replacing the older and dying.

This is like someone putting spikes and mines on the field after they've played then asking why nobody wants to step on to the field.

They are reaping what they've sown. They should have taken environmental protection seriously. They didn't. They should have harshly punished monopoly attempts. They didn't. They should have at the very least kept tax rates at what they were. They didn't.

At every turn where they could have done something to protect the future and create a world people would actually feel responsible for and would want to improve, they chose to put their own interests and desires first. And now they want to gaslight adults who are saying "I can't see any reason why I should choose to struggle more than I currently am" into being miserable.

The narcissism of boomers created an apathetic and cynical generation who didn't care about anything anymore and actively made fun of you if you did(Gen X) who then encouraged cynicism in millennial people. Now Gen Z is split up into people who want to squeeze the last ounces of wealth still around(largely by scamming everyone) or have just given up and try to manage what little they have.

Actions have consequences and the silver lining is that the kids growing up under millennial parents who actually planned to have them are growing up in homes where the parents are prioritizing those kids being stable, normal, and happy. They're giving their children the lives they deserve. They think their children will be part of a movement that will turn things around and are trying to set them up the best they can to make that dream a reality. I genuinely wish them the best.

For the majority of people who are deciding not to have children, I think that may change if drastic action is taken on climate, housing, Job security and overall peace and safety both domestically and internationally. People are smart enough to know when they're being lied to by people in power and the decentralization of media has allowed people to see footage or hear audio that directly contradicts the lies they're being fed. Look at what happened in 2020 with George Floyd. If smartphones were not recording them, the general public would've accepted the prepared statement the police would've given to the media. Instead we saw worldwide protests at the blatant abuse of power and attempt at covering it up.

All of this.

It’s wild seeing everything burn in real time with no end in sight.

how did they do this?

He revolutionized corporate exploitation of workers. Add Reagan and both of Bushs' crippling administrations (war on drugs x100, military industry complex, trickle down economics)

All the fear mongering about depopulation is misguided. Multiple Asian countries have been or are going through it and they are doing fine. Take into account the waves of immigrants entering this country.

Even if you didn't grow up poor, if you had any suffering growing up, you wouldn't want your kids to do the same. Part of that is choosing the right mother, and these chicks stank.

You don't get as good of a job as your parents had when they grew up, and you definitely got more responsibility. Add all that up, yeah, no grandkids.
