i swear we will have to have centralized baby factories like in those 90s movies if we want our population to sustain itself. Both child birth and child rearing would have to be a govt responsibility when the populace doesnt care to do it itself. The only other alternative are the unethical choices of actively depressing population metrics for development, the same way we already do by purposefully creating unemployment and inflation with fed policy.
we are next breh. we arent magical black people immune to this stuff like we thought we were at the beginning of covid
we like to pretend its not a black issue but it is. its a global issue and a consequence of economic development. look at a map of hdi or gdp per capita in Africa and the carribean and notice the distinct difference between the poor failed states and the rapidly developing ones. its nothing but downward and very very predictable trajectories. \ South africa for instance is almost at the 2.1 replenishment point, the bahamas and barbadoes are are beneath it. even right here in america , despite black immigrants diluting the figure, we are slightly below the 2.1 replenishment rate and the trend is looking abysmal as education and incomes rise relative to prior black generations.
you gotta look at tge long term trends and you’ll notice that black people are slowly walking towards the same cliff whites, latinos, and asians have.
And no, govt subsidies wont fix anything as we have seen that strategy fail miserably in northern europe for the last 2 decades. we need to understand that folks just cant be bothered to gave kids beyond a certain point in human development.
i think you are on the right track here…
- ironically, i think family farming would help a lot. you would ideally want to push down the population wealth, population education, societal development if you wish to return to the old paradigm of child birth. sadly, farming does this really well.
The enemy of humanity right now is the prosperity and development we spent the 20th century desperately trying to achieve.
- i disagree with you on teaching money management. its actually counterintuitive. it only leads folks to make the extremely rational decision not to procreate, and when they do procreate; they shrewdly choose to have the bare minimum amount of children. notice how it is the folks with poor money management having the most kids on every single country and cuty on earth.
- i also agree with you that pushing college is also a bad thing for population figures. it leads to the same issue of folks choosing to not have kids or have the bare minimum amount.
this film was lowkey prophetic….
(however , rather than only the intelligent/wealthy dying off; everyone in society becomes more intelligent due to development and everyone dies off.)
