german has some latin words and greek words bc the germanic overthrew rome once and learned their language and it was passed down to communicate with other worlds.
english is proto germanic...
english is not a romance language but has some influence to latin. but if you ever listened to german's talk, you will hear english sounding words. NOT romance language sounding words.
