no it wasnt you smart dumb nikka.

The father of jazz and black music was the blues.
And farther than that was negro spirituals.
Jazz/ragtime musicians had Cuban influences, i.e- the Spanish tinge with cats like scott Joplin. But to say Cubans made American music happened is reaching to the stars.

NO CULTURE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN BLACK CULTURE WHEN IT COMES TO MODERN MUSIC:stopitslime::troll:

Lol... You the smart dumb nikka. Cubans are black too. That is first.

2ndly. naw you just a dumb nikka. What is different between the blues and jazz... The use of european instruments. When american blues and negro spirituals, where drums where banned in fear of blacks of the carribean... Which revolted and later won... Wouldn't spread knowledge and common tongue with the blacks of america. American slaves where not the only ones that sang in the fields dumb ass nikka. Cuba had slavery before america. And cuba had slavery for decades longer than america.

Now. To simplify, the havanna port is on the gulf stream that takes you straight to europe and was where commerce and trade happen between the new world and europe. The port was also where the slaves and free men from new orleans haiti and cuba all intermingled. In cuba and haiti the slaves had more freedoms and ability to meet once a week and to play instruments that were banned in america. Like the drum. But they also played european horns and stringed and the clave.

In cuba, there was a monarchy. Not a democracy. The european culture was already established. They had operahs and playhouses that entertained like europe. It is when the slaves from america (british) fused with the slaves from haiti(french) and cuba(spanish) that african slave music fused with european music to make jazz.

But the slaves in america, because they where not allowed to have instruments. Made lyrical and storytelling a focus. Hummed and sang spirituals. Spirituals which are slaves adapting to the white jesus, because the drums that you used to worship with in africa are banned.

i could go on... Or youn could read a book

no you should just stop. None of what you said has a direct correlation to Cubans "making" american music happen.
Look at the history of the blues it is the father of jazz, you exposed yourself by starting off with jazz in the first place.
Blacks have been way more prolific in the making of modern music than any other culture including Cubans

And don't make me unleash the kraken when it comes to this subject @IllmaticDelta

Lol you dumb ass internet fukk always talking about "exposed"
Only thing i exposed was that you dont know what the fukk your talking about.

Again. There where BLACKS in CUBA before AMERICA. CUBANS AND HAITIANS (especially) ARE MORE BLACK/AFRICAN than you.

I never said blacks didnt influence American music. Im trying to explain to your stupid ass that there are BLacks like you throughout the new world, whose influence in music, including the blues, was just as great and almost undeniably greater than American slave influence.

You cannont, intelligently, speak about any of the new world music without acknowledging the influence of havanna. Well, you can, because you dont know your history beyond a public school social studies book.

lol at the bolded. What does that even mean dumb nikka:mjlol:

American slave influence is why all these genres started in America:mjlol:

The blues was a expression of blacks in the south. African americans from the south have been the most important music culture in the modern age. Cubans had nothing to do with the blues:mjlol:

As a matter of fact. I am being confrontational in reaction to your initial statement. But your ignorance is not your fault. They purposely took our religion and history from us, so you think the beginning of black music was a negro spiritual. Which is not true. And instead of talking down on you for being ignorant i should educate you and spread the knowledge i have acquired.

Calling each other dumb is childish. This is the perfect opportunity to spread our history.

Lol meaning that the slaves in haiti and cuba where allowed to practice their african traditions and religions. They have preserved parts of our culture and heritige lost here in America. They have fought for their right to be free, and paid for it in blood. They dont allow foriegners to own land in Haiti, so they have limited outside influence on thier culuture and bloodline.

The Blacks on the islands are literally your closet connection to your heritige. closer than anything youll find in africa.

Jazz starting in america is arguable. But if it did, it started in new orleans bruh. Which Was owned by french spanish and america. And had a port. That was in constant daily contact with havanna and haiti.

Black music doesn't begin with jazz. The direction black music would take depended on the blues. Poor black southerners changed the narrative on how modern music would sound sonically. Anything else is romanticized revisionist bullshyt

You keep bringing up blues. Like the guitar is not Spanish. Like that too didnt come from new orleans. Like all music for black folks began with the blues. It didnt bruh. There are spanish versions of the blues that occured around the same time. The blues is just what YOU know. But i agree. Blacks created modern music, nobody in the entire world would argue that.

But there is a reason all these genres of music came out of the port city new orleans. And im just tying to get you to open your mind to their being slaves in other places than America. That happen bruh. That is history. Their were also slaves in America, before the united states became. The united states is not the only part of America. Acknowledge that also.

Black music didnt start woth jazz. It was revolutionize and made global with jazz. Made global because it fused african slave elements with european ones. In a way only black could. Some one said rag time and jazz are not the same thing. But they are. And jazz and rap are the same too. Its all one music. From the african diaspora. That is not limited to just the united states

:dwillhuh:

Were just going to have to disagree

Im fully aware of the latin Caribbean influence on black America. As I mentioned earlier Scott Joplin and the Spanish tinge
New Orleans created one genre. So did the missippi delta region. So did Detroit, chicago, nyc and basically the south etc
People have a problem with African American culture being........................African American.LOL at thinking black music was some international effort back than, when that's not even the dynamic in 2014. When almost all or 90% of the pioneers are AA
As a grown man and an AA im not really here for that bullshyt

There definitely was a international effort back then. I dont think it, the proof is in the music. You are not "fully" aware. And remaining ignorant is a choice you can choose.

The international effort is essentially how rap music began. Africans were never a written people. We remembered the news and stories from america haiti and cuba and spread them through song and rhyme. The blacks on the docks in haitia cuba and mew orleans where DEFINITELY communicating everyday. Because the ships went back and forth everyday.

The fact that your trying to credit every city with a different genre of music proves my point more. Its not a new orleans thing. Or detroit thing. Cuba thing. Or american thing. Its an african/black thing. And they (cubans) where around before us. And had more freedom to practice the music.

You can not be here for your history. All good. Afrocuban and Haitians are Africans in the Americas too. Lol.
