i hate hipsters, they try to hard.....that's the problem with white folks as a whole...the only sincere whits are the poor ones...but whites are so robotic...everything for them is so planned, its like they have to create an identity for themselves instead of just being natural

thats why they were attracted to NYC in the first place...minorities made that shyt what it is

cacs think by throwing $ at everything it makes it better, but it just sucks the soul of it, thats why the hood have way more life than the suburbs
Whatever makes you feel good, but the Big Apple did not become the capital of the world just because of Black people in Harlem & Puerto Ricans in the South Bronx:heh:

The Bronx
BX on some last man standing shyt though , alot of the hoods out here even a good majority of uptown looking like the late 90s / early 00s , it's going to take alot to change this , I see them attempting to set up shop in the south BX , but all that's doing is pushing them up more causing more chaos hence the gradual increasing of crime uptown . The biggest spike in shooting is in the 47th Precient (Uptown) and it's evident because alot of my friends died last & this year , I'm attending a funeral tomorrow for a friend I knew since kindergarten smh .

Also knowing alot of people want my head over some prior shyt it would probably be best if I relocate as well before it's too late .. I'm trying to head down south to ATL before next summer.

And what post did I make that indicated that it was purely race driven? It's a conjuction of racial politics and economics which are linked closely especially in relation to neighborhoods.
You are implying as such, we seem to disagree with what is really #1 here or maybe this is simply another example of me not thinking emotionally about this.

I sympathize to a certain extent, but there has to come a point in where you have to step back and view this objectively. I have a very harsh and rigid view of these things because I think many of us have to "wake up now" and realize that it will be a continuing cycle if we are not in a position to own "our communities". We are RENTING them and ultimately we cannot blame anyone but ourselves if we do not decide to take control of our surroundings. I've put a good amount of time in this matter, IMO we will not collectively be in a position to own many sections of NYC in our lifetime and will only slow progress if we continue to chase a piece of cheese that is most likely out of reach for 90%-95% of us.

You and I could go back and forth all day here and argue the morality behind the moves, but it won't amount to anything in the end because you and I know that MOST in that position will rent to the highest bidder if in the same position to capitalize. Whether we are Black, White, Yellow, or Red...Green > All.

Everything else is secondary as far as I'm concerned.

Let me destroy this wishy washy argument in one question.

Was slavery racial or was it simply economically driven?

I actually expected this simple ass response from you and I am disappointed. I've already given examples of how minorities are thriving outside of that north east bubble, but you are conveniently concentrating on that area alone. Is it harder for us? Of course it is, there is no denying that. You are falling RIGHT back into throwing race into it, while absolving many who are wasting their potential into chasing things that are frivolous or unattainable. My family is a prime example, we shouldn't be the exceptions.

I suggest you take the advice that your avatar and signature are pushing literally.

You can see it time and time again throughout American history. Whites lack something in their souls. That's why they constantly try to emulate others.... I just can't explain it.

they lack soul, thats the keyword....everything for them is about self gratification....that same mentality is what will destroy the country, whites can never have enough, they always want more ....even George Carlin said it

Moving into a neighborhood =\= gentrification... Were the previous residents poor? I think you need to read closely on the definition on the word you want to argue about.

So what do you call affluent blacks moving into a place formerly inhabited by rural whites?

As it's defined by the CDC.
Gentrification is often defined as the transformation of neighborhoods from low value to high value. This change has the potential to cause displacement of long-time residents and businesses. Displacement happens when long-time or original neighborhood residents move from a gentrified area because of higher rents, mortgages, and property taxes.

Gentrification is a housing, economic, and health issue that affects a community’s history and culture and reduces social capital. It often shifts a neighborhood’s characteristics (e.g., racial/ethnic composition and household income) by adding new stores and resources in previously run-down neighborhoods

What would you consider Baldwin Hills and View Park-Windsor Hills in LA... they weren't affluent and black until housing laws changed and wealthy blacks pushed whites out.

Monterey Park,CA was gentrified by Asians starting in the 70's
