No Limit was the first time that we saw the level of consistent FREQUENCY of releases from the era.

East Coast artist like Nas was having 2 and 3 YEAR GAPS between releases at best 1x a year.

No Limit was pumping New Albums not to mention singles very frequently relative to the rest of Rap.

They were doing what we take for granted today in terms of frequent consistent project releases.

I think this gets lost in the sauce, but is definitely accurate. The rapid pace at which No Limit was releasing albums and new artists was unheard of.

What ultimately hurt the tank is that some of their most talented artists just got lost in the mix. A lot of people assume that No Limit was a stable of wack MC's, when in reality they had creativity (Mystikal), lyricism (Mac, Fiend, Mia X, D.I.G.) and just all around dope rappers like C-Murder, Soulja Slim, Magic, Ghetto Commission (specifically Holloway and Spade).

Also I think the triple threat marketing combo of Film,Soundtrack and Solo album with liner notes promo was smart and duplicated after them.

P would release a movie with his artist in the movie, soundtrack to the movie and a many times a solo album from artist in the movie "MP Da Last D"
on etc.

The straight to VHS or (DVD?) Movie increased visibility of No Limit artist through media.

Someone needs to upload the C Murder BET Cribs.

It was unreal. They followed C Murder to his crib in Metarie,Louisiana suburb and then he somehow kept a residence literally in the hood he came up in.
