it doesn't determine what movie is better, all it shows is what movie earned the most money. anything you determine after that is an assumption about why one movie earned more money than the other...

yeah, you do. but how does that translate to it being better than another movie? there's still a disconnect with your logic. you're assuming a lot of different things all at one time. most of which have nothing to do with the actual construction and design of the movie itself and more to do with people's behavior (all of which are fickle)...

we aren't. it's all a matter of opinion at this point between the two movies. and that's why i find it annoying people would suggest something like money to determine something that's clearly a matter of opinion, as if there aren't other economic factors tied into how much money a movies makes...
