Avengers is the most overrated, over hyped movie since Avatar.

I'm not saying it was a bad film or anything but really this film was nothing special.

The plot was ass, the only likable character is Iron man, and the action was cliche and boring. The whole climatic battle felt like it used 40% stock footage from transformers 3, an even worse film.

The movie has no depth, I have no need to ever see this film again. What's the point? Just another summer popcorn flick that's been hyped into something it's not.

Correct

Me and three friends went to this movie one day because it was raining and I heard it was getting all good reviews.

We all fell asleep at some point during the movie, almost left halfway through. I guess I need the plot and characters to have substance and could not care less about the pretty special effects. Probably why I've given up on hollywood in general.

And another thing with superheros; they used to be humans with special powers and then somewhere along the line they turned into invincible gods you know the outcome of these movies before they even start.

lol @ people looking for substance in a superhero movie.

and extra lol @ people who praise Dark Knight when there is only one good character. If anything is the most overrated movie it's definitely TDK

Movie was dope to me, just was made to bring all of them together and it did that. Is it an all time classic? Probably not, but who was expecting that?

It's sad that peeps can't enjoy both movies. TDK and Avengers both have their own lane in terms of comic films and both deliver. The funny thing is if they drop an Avengers sequel that's truly dives into the depth of the Marvel Universe there will be a bunch of people saying "I thought movies was supposed to be fun." I never seen a problem with a 40 minute CGI fight scene for a super hero movie or a movie based on toy franchise.

i am highly anticipating DKR btw.

people only like Dark Knight because they think it's "dark" n Marvel is "happy". and because Heath died. it's good, but overrated. nobody around my way gave a fukk about batman til Heath passed away. :yeshrug: and now they're just mad.

Lmao @ how angry some of your responses are. It's like your own lives are so meaningless you have to attach yourselves to movies and rappers.

I don't give a shyt if the movie has 93% on RT and made a lot of money. That's why I said it was overrated and over hyped.

I went into this movie wanting to love it. I saw it in 3D opening night. I wanted to be blown away. I wasn't. I was witness to a two and a half hour movie that was all been there, done that.

I've noticed people have to stoop to lame personal attacks then respond to critiscms of the movie. As if critics aren't people and can't be run over by hype like anyone else.

Name one classic cinema moment in this film that will be remembered 50 years from now to justify the rabid fan boyism over the film. You can't because it doesn't exist.

Hulk smashing Loki. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've never heard a theater react to a scene like the one I was in react to that.

I don't see how it's overrated. no one is calling this highbrow cinema bruh. People went in wanting to see some dope superhero action. they got that along with some genuinely funny moments and as much character development possible for a film with so many characters.

As far as what people expected, Avengers delivered.

That Ed Norton Hulk movie wasn't any better than the Ang Lee/Eric Bana one. I'm glad they got Mark Ruffalo for The Avengers.
