I meant robbed because when we see him again it's basically a different version and damn near a different character. In IW I think they did a great job of making him look conflicted, like he's not even malicious he's just doing what he has to do. They also show us the weight of the sacrifices he has to make too. Then he gives a mustache-curling super bad guy speech towards the end of Endgame and it's like ok the depth is gone. I still thought the ending was fairly well done overall tho

And in all fairness, this is I kinda like what I’m talking about in my other post. Since this is a criticism of your with Endgame and your freedom of speech with that and prerogative.

But Thanos gets knocked for that but the villain of Shazaam, everytime he was on screen or talked he was giving a mustache curling super bad guy speech, but it’s ok with him?

Stuff like that loses me.

So basically you went into one movie looking into flaws and you went into the other more hopeful and open minded?

My question now would be, why not keep that same energy for both films for consistency?

That’s another reason for day one if it’s one thing I know I always been consistent with and try to do is keep that same standard and energy of each film to have an balanced perspective and opinion.

I’m not gonna shyt on something 2 years ago but then love it now (and Vice versa) or give something a pass 5 years ago and then flip flop some years down the line like I never liked it.

I get the whole “expectations” thing but I have the ability to compartmentalize it to where I’m not gonna dramatically change and become a hypocrite
I didn't look for flaws in Endgame. I didn't even care about some of the time travel problems and inconsistencies that people are pointing out cause no film with time travel holds up well under that kind of scrutiny. I just expected a film on par with IW which I loved, and I didn't get it. I really didn't go into Shazam open-minded at all, I honestly expected to hate it lol

There's some projection going on here fam. I never listed the villain as being one of the reasons I thought Shazam was better. I thought the villain was average. You said Endgame was better cause it had one of the best villains of all time and I pointed out why I thought that villain was average as well in EG

How is Sam going to be captain America when he isnt a super soldier and is just a nikka with wings?

The parting of Wilson from his superiors took another step when he decided to stop working for the government, believing that the United States needed a Captain America who was more socially active than before. Captain America's segregation from the government wasn't without criticism, with certain Americans believing him to have become "Captain Socialism," while others fully showed his support.[31]

During this time, Sam was drawn into a crisis when he and Iron Man aided Spider-Man in battling Warbringer. Joined by the Vision, Thor, Nova and Ms. Marvel, the group took down Warbringer and stopped his attempt to bring an army of Chitauri to Earth. Impressed by it all, the team became the newest incarnation of Avengers.

He was the same character only with the knowledge of the results of his goal. That knowledge changed his goal to a new method of improving the universe by starting from scratch.

I know a lot of people were disappointed with fat Thor but it made complete sense. Thor had been losing things with no time to deal with it and process anything because there was always another mission to finish. After killing Thanos he had 5 years with nothing to do but reflect on his losses and his failures. He was clearly depressed and dealing with it in a self destructive way. After seeing the movie for a second time I thought it was interesting at the end that he and Valkyrie changed roles and she was no longer the drunk wallowing in her sorrows, she was the confident leader.

It didn’t feel like a typical villain in the last part. It felt like building on what we already knew about him and him taking it a step further. He saw what his original plan did and it didn’t work the way he intended. So he lamented that and decided to just wipe out everything. But there was anger and passion behind it rather than just cold calculation.

But that’s my point, vs just ..... I don’t want to even say “objectively” but verse just going into either movie in a neutral state. You already had preprogrammed feelings that effected your viewing experience vs taking either for what they were then processing.

No projection and I didn’t say that why Endgame was better, if anything I said Shazaam wasn’t better because Shazaam did practically everything Marvel AND other movies (let me bold and include that so it’s not a Marvel/DC thing like) have been doing for years and been getting shytted on and this film really didn’t do it better.

Not to mention Shazaam isn’t even better than a lot of films Endgame is better than.

If I put Shazaam up against say Venon,

Venon had a better visuals (since that’s a thing)
Venon comedy was better
The characters of Eddie/Venom were better than Billy/Shazaam

And that just a start

This movie really didn't need all of those battle scenes because of what happened in the last movie so I wouldn't really make sense.

You are an adult you can handle a movie without non-stop action.
This. nikkaz wanted non stop action for 3 hours straight.....watched this for the 2nd time on bootleg and that shyt crack

These little ADHD ass nikkaz would probably think Godfather is wack and no I'm not comparing this to godfather

So vision is gone forever right?
Vision is a robot, so it's easier to write him back in than a humanoid character. All they have to say is that Shuri downloaded a backup of his data stored and create a new Vision from that.

edit: I forgot, there's a Vision/Scarlet Witch show coming to Disney+ so they're definitely bringing him back.

Wasn't a fan of time travel to be honest...

But time travel was more about setting up the future of the MCU. There could of been like 4 or 5 better plot, but it keeps phase 4 from feeling like a soft reboot when they bring in the time fukkery villian in Kang. So, it feels like the time travel plot has weight and consequences and is not cheap. It's is crucial to set up X-men arrival.
