Oh man, Chadwick 100% would’ve been the hero to lead the new Avengers in the Multiverse Saga had he not passed away.

I feel like they’re still trying to find out who that person is supposed to be. We’ll see what Mackie can do next year as Cap though.

Oddly enough Captain America actually looks decent.

it looks decent but also had a TON of re-shoots with a whole sub plot that was trashed (partially because of ties to Israel)

Marvel was saved by Russo brothers from 2015-2019. Since 2020 its been a mixed bag of directors and producers whom don't really know how to make good action films, let a lone a super hero one. Theres folks like David Leitch (Deadpool 2/Fall Guy) or even Chad Stahelski (John Wick) whom you don't see on credits for mcu films but then they go and grab Taika, Shawn Levy or some film school grad who had a lot of nepotism with the studio

However, whoever the fukk pitched the idea of introducing Kang in an Ant Man movie, directed by Peyton Reed, and have him lose should be fired.
No reason that couldnt be an easy recast. However, they killed all the good momentum they had after the Season 1 Loki finale.

It would have worked if he didn’t get booted. Just matchups with different Kang’s until it culminates in the Avengers having to deal with the most powerful Kang. I’ve enjoyed most of the plots except for the Eternals. It’s the cinematography of the beginning of the “post-Endgame” phase that got on my nerves.

Kang was the best part of the Ant Man movie.. there’s a million Kangs so I wasn’t trippin off 1 taking an L… it honestly looked like that’s the 1 that would’ve returned supercharged to be the most powerful one in the end if the allegations ain’t happen

I agree, if other actors can play 2 characters, no excuse for a recast…. And really no excuse for no T’Challa in secret wars now

These movies are for the average movie goer. They are not going to have RDJ, the face of the MCU, playing another character that has no relation to the character he played before in the same franchise.

This news is primarily getting buzz because everyone knows RDJ IS Tony Stark/Iron Man in the first place.

That’s probably the whole emotional point of it.

It’s not him. There’s no saving this dude. It’s just Doom. There’s no Stark in there to save.

They essentially did this with the Quicksilver reveal in WandaVision. People thought it was her grief pulling across another Quicksilver since hers was gone. But it wasn’t. It was the MCU version of that face. So now they have fixed the reveal to be a gut punch to the characters instead of just solely fan wank.

They are risking RDJ’s legacy on this. He was synonymous with Iron Man like few actors have ever been able to be with a character. Like RDJ IS Iron Man. That mystique goes out the window the minute we see his face on screen as Dr Doom. Is it worth it? It’s gonna take a generationally good movie and performance to valid fukking up RDJ/Iron Man’s icon status
