Does this movie actually hold up on its own or is it really about that theater experience?

Ngl, not looking forward to re-watching 1 to remember the story and setting if 2 is going to be on the same "It's only worth a damn in theaters" bs.

I mean if you plan on seeing it you might as well see it in the theater, unless you have a great system at home. 85% of the appeal of the movie are the visuals, which I would assume are more impressive on the big screen. You don't need to rewatch 1 first tbh, the story is light and there's kind of an intro that reminds you of what you need to know. It's not like there's some intricate plot that carries from 1 into 2.
