The visuals were amazing and the last third of the movie was fire.

Everything else was trash and I was fighting falling asleep on this mid ass film.

4/10
Maybe I should've stayed longer? :lupe:

I left about an hour into the film and I rarely walk out of movies. I found Sulley's family to be the most annoying thing about the movie. The cliche family drama and teenage angst was holding the film back. I can't speak for the latter part of the film, but the only interesting part involved the human settlers/colonizers.

I feeling like Cameron sold the movie by virtue of being famous, moreso than the movie speaking for itself.

Once again I can't speak for the latter half of the film, but I liked the cgi from black Adam than the James Cameron stuff. Seemed more realistic at a fraction of the cost. I only mention that film because it also used futuristic ships that were better rendered.

However, keep in mind, In The Water is so far outpacing the first movie. It took 17 days for Avatar to reach a billion.
That's almost as much a vapid statement as "This is our best iPhone ever." Why wouldn't it be? It's the newest one.

Why wouldn't the sequel to Avatar a franchise established by the original movie not benefit and outperform the original?
