Watching now I can say they have nerfed Sokkas personality a ton so farThe kids in general are missing that bubbly silly personality the crew had with Katara being more of the mother of them. The banter needs to be there the chemistry was immaculate in the showDidn't expect fhe first episode fo start like that though that was dopeThey should've used more of the original music this soundtrack is weak so far. Avatar has one of the most fire scorees I've ever heard
It's because they split the gang up in the most to their adventuresYeah, the chemistry and a certain level of bubbly charm isn't there. Maybe it'll change when the Greatest Earthbender in the Universe arrives, but those are huge.
You're chasing dragons breh. You deserve to feel like this if you expected any more than whatever you gotOk yea they're speed running and cutting out a lot of their mini adventures. Those adventures are what helped them build the bond though What's the point in making a series if you're cutting scenes out anyway?
There's no heart in this shytYou're chasing dragons breh. You deserve to feel like this if you expected any more than whatever you got
I watched the trailer but knew I couldn't watch this shyt because I like the show so much this feels disrespectful
There's a general lack of respect for what animation brings to art and storytelling, and ATLA's identity is married to the personality that shines through the cartoon. From the little footage I've seen it looks like all the soul is stripped away
I'm not completely against the idea of live action adaptations of cartoons, but I know what's being sacrificed for the sake of nikkas that feel like live action is the most mature and righteous representation of art
It's watchable and okay, but you're absolutely right. A major part of Avatar's identity is a product of the beauty that is the animation. And it shines there. You're chasing dragons breh. You deserve to feel like this if you expected any more than whatever you got

I think the bolded is why I think we the audience share as much blame as the companies pumping out this shytIt's watchable and okay, but you're absolutely right. A major part of Avatar's identity is a product of the beauty that is the animation. And it shines there.
A lot of the scenes are shot-for-shot, line for line, but the soul is missing...or lost in translation. It actually feels like some of those Disney live-action remakes, but not as hollow

Believe the writer of the show did an interview confirming they would be cutting out a lot of the side quests
As far as the show I’m only a couple episodes in but I like it for what it is. It was never realistic to expect it to match the OG
Sokka actor feels like a miscast though
