I'm not the world's biggest fan of hiring the director before the script is even made. Still, hiring a world class director first is worlds better than hiring the actor before the script. When people aren't on the same page you have drama like Rogue One or Young Han Solo.

For some reason I think she's a great fit for a world's finest film with huntress and power girl, or red hood and the outlaws. Don't even know why.

I'll take your word for it. Seemed frame for frame to be similar to the comics.

I'm not a huge production head so I could be wrong.
If we are talking the theatrical release no it wasn't. And also that movie kinda lacking compared to the Director's Cut/Ultimate Cut which are awesome! He did do the books justice with those.

Yeah world class director is a bit of stretch.

Selma was workman like directing. And she failed with a wrinkle in time.

She’s got a lot to prove as a director.
I knew something was up when Patty Jenkins was giving Ava love for Wrinkle. So I'm pretty sure they're cool.

She needs to learn as much as she can from Patty and also Coogler. Pick their brain on how to bring a different world to life.

I'm not going to bury her cause she failed. She just gotta learn from her mistakes. More importantly LOVE THE MATERIAL not just the character (Barda). Thats what happened with Meg and Wrinkle in Time.

Also with these blockbuster films you can't be everything to everybody. She's gotta keep total focus on the movie. Doing shows, making docs is great...but gotta have that focus on just this movie.

Watching Patty Jenkins get all the love from her 150 million dollar movie, watching Ryan Coogler get critical and box office acclaim from a movie she passed on should push her...

We'll find out what Ava's made of. I'm rooting for her. :ehh:
