A lot of people seem to think DC owns Static outright and don't understand that he and the Milestone characters are liscensed through Milestone Media, which can't happen right now because of the lawsuit. So every time they announce something like, say, Black Lightning, Static fans not in the know start getting pissy despite the issue kind of being out of DC's hands.
