Ava woulda had Shuri swirling with that one Cac who didn't understand Wakanda tech

Wait, what movie did she have an interracial relationship? She had black love in Middle of Nowhere, I Will Follow, and obviously Selma. I'd understand if we were talking about Shonda...

No matter the nitpicks I have with Coogler, we're blessed that he got the job.

You're not missing much. Coates had a 5-6 issue stretch where BP seemed to get the estrogen out his system... but he's back to being a do-nothing punk.

BP/Storm goes like this:

-Storm does all the heroic shyt, saving the day, inspiring Wakandans, etc.

-BP sits around getting called a bytchass nykka by all his dead relatives.

Probably what Ava's movie would've been like (sub Storm with Doras)

Fortunately sales bombed so badly now that Coates is leaving the book after one more issue or two.

Evan Narcisse mini is the only one I'd recommend.

:russ: So he uses one of my favorite X-Men to emasculate him?

And I'm sorry to T'Challa/Orora Hive; the idea of them being married makes no sense.

Maybe in a future timeline when Storm is too old to be an X-Men, but, it's goofy as hell, now.

And by the sounds of it; Coates definitely couldn't forget it out.

But this is what basically happened under Coogler :francis: Coogler is also good friends with Coates and liked his take on BP.
T'Challa was overshadowed in his own film, by his whole supporting cast. A lot of people were calling Okoye the true badass, people wanted Shuri to take the mantle, people were siding with Killmonger and calling BP a c00n.etc
I did like the film a lot the first year of release, but since then my opinion on it has simmered a bit. I think it could have been executed a bit better at least as a superhero film. Still one my top MCU films tho.
I would have been fine with Duvernay in all honesty. She's a competent filmmaker. People bring up Wrinkle in Time, but that's one of the hardest stories to adapt for screen. Her filmography going into her first MCU film would have been better than the Russos who's major film before Winter Soldier was You, Me and Dupree
I never got this thought. Okoye literally did nothing more impressive than Panther. What did Shuri do to outshine Panther? Trick into kicking the suit? They were good side characters. Ross could've been replaced by anybody. People related to Killmongers message. I don't think anyone outshined him.
I never got how Killmonger got so much shine and so many good lines when he’s the one dying at the end and not gonna be in any sequels and nerfed the stars. The super intelligent, out for vengeance T’Challa from civil war never happened clearly
He threw away vengeance in Civil War & couldn't be in the lab all day. He just figuring out where to go as king.
Lol plus Michael B was the worst actor in the whole film :mjlol:
I personally think Winston Duke should've been Killmonger. Michael B wasn't intimidating or scary at all, Winston got that presence.

Or we've seen the feminist vision of Black Panther, already.

And the OP isn't too specific at all as to what she wanted to do and couldn't.
Because she wasn’t specific. She’s pretty much made it clear if she does a franchise movie in the studio system it has to be on her terms. The idea that she wanted it to be whatever cats are afraid it would be when most of the material she’s done is about strong black men remaining strong while also propping up strong black females as well, is silly to me. It’s being afraid of a thing when all the evidence shows the complete opposite.

Literally no one acknowledges the pairing outside of the BP book. No x-men book mentions it, no avengers book (even tho BP is the current leader/chairman), even BP being gone in the "intergalactic" timeline is ignored, and he's in these other books and events as if the shyt in Coates book never happened.

Instead of giving BP a new love interest and building new shyt with the greater marvel sandbox, we get these bullshyt retreads of old shyt. This fool :deadhorse: plot points from 2012 that already been resolved. BP and Storm already been resolved, and it'll be bushed once again when he leaves because it's already not taken seriously or recognized by anyone else. Which is actually a blessing lol.
