That's an interesting analysis and plausible too. But I may contest that those same artists you mentioned that are anglo aren't trying to appeal to those who darker skin artists are. Classic case of when keeping it real goes wrong. Black artists feel they need to be validated by the 'hood or whatever. That's my opinion. Timberlake gives less than a freak about the approval of Lil' Shay-Shay in the Pork n Beans Projects and make his music. Guess what? She'll vibe to it anyways. An artist should be an artist and stay true to what they are without too much outside interference. I mean August Alsina is doing him so more power to him and that cause. Just not my taste.Breh, black pure RnB singers are going the way of dinosaurs. White artists are giving up us the pure RnB now. After Usher crushed the buildings with Confessions, their has been a concerted effort to push us away from the genre. I have said it again and again, after they are done with Breezy, black RnB singers will be relegated to hook on rap songs. The white and c00n executives are telling them to make this crap while they turn to Timberlake, Bieber, Grande, and Thicke to make the real stuff. Now, white kids think that they are the real faces of RnB, saying stuff like "this is real soul music" in youtube comments.
