This number is a good indication of how much YG disappointed. That nikka has not only more hype but a bigger fan base overall.

50,000 copies X $10 = $500,000 - $250,000 budget = $250,000 and after paying everybody out then left with $150,000 and anymore sells are gravy. :obama:

Thats how I look at it, and that's just the first week. He'll probably sell 100k more before the year is up.

Breh, black pure RnB singers are going the way of dinosaurs. White artists are giving up us the pure RnB now. After Usher crushed the buildings with Confessions, their has been a concerted effort to push us away from the genre. I have said it again and again, after they are done with Breezy, black RnB singers will be relegated to hook on rap songs. The white and c00n executives are telling them to make this crap while they turn to Timberlake, Bieber, Grande, and Thicke to make the real stuff. Now, white kids think that they are the real faces of RnB, saying stuff like "this is real soul music" in youtube comments.

What I really mean i vulgarity over a hip hop sounding beat. And personally, I think alot of artists are doing this now. Beyonce, Ty Dolla, Trey Songz, August Alsina, The Weeknd, The Dream, Chris Brown..and whole bunch of ppl.

Really? Cuz i think its the opposite. I think Rnb is overrun with too much vulgarity over hip hop sounds. With all the artists i mentioned above, right now personally, it just sounds like too many singers are trying to have that hip hop sound. And i don't want my Rnb sounding like Hip Hop.

Thats why when you have artists like Pharrell, John Legend, and JT make ACTUAL rnb records...that shyt pops.

I'm not saying its terrible music or anything...just don't expect these nikkas to ever go gold or win a grammy. IMO that sound is the main reason RnB awards don't get presented anymore on these award shows:manny:

lol @ this coli math. that 500k is gross profit. Uncle sam gets his cut... itunes and retailers get their cut... Def Jam gets their cut.. managers get their cut.. Producers and songwriters get their cut... then Alsina gets to go on tour to try to make back the money he owes def jam for his failed project.

I spoke on it before and @Marvel pretty much summed it up. For every alsina you got the same amount of black artist on that love tip ala jaheim. The fact you dont recognize them proves these white execs are doing something right.

It was simplified to get a general idea of how they can make money from the industry. If sells 150k copies then they should be good.

By your logic who is actually making money then. The fact you think DJ spent alot on this album is stupid. Breh had the product 2 mixtape w big producers and dj drama. Thats before signing with DJ. So it aint like they paid hella money for producers. And they hardly promoted his joint compared to other albums

Jaheim capable of making a Top 40 hit in 2014?
