It’s a lame comparison that I see stated around here often when surreal dramedies have existed before both shows. Louie being a prime example. That being said, it’s still a really good watch. Dave’s second season in particular is disconnected, dark, and awkward just like the main lead’s state of mind. The episodes in the back-half made up for how slow and uncomfortable the overall season was, and the finale brought everything together nicely.
Atlanta is infinitely better creatively and that’s not a knock on the series. Glover’s crew has put something together that can be viewed as culturally significant later down the line and I just don’t see that with Dave.
Tried watching a few episodes of Dave
Why does this even get compared to Atlanta
Does it get better as it goes on
Makes me wonder how did lil dikky even got funding for this show and all the special guests and famous rappers in it
Donald’s talking about himself and the creation of Atlanta.
Donald came up being called “white acting”
Donald out of College was recruited by Tina Fey as a writer for 30 Rock, through a DIVERSITY PROGRAM
Donald assembled an all black writers room for Atlanta, to create the most authentically black show on television
Homeboys In Outer Space was AWFUL. There’s no “cult” following for it. Nobody speaking on it with fond memories.

I basically have every episode of season 1 and 2 as undeniable classics. I’ve watched these two seasons over 10times each and would have a mental breakdown trying to rank them against each other. I still laugh at the jail scene like it’s my first time every time. And I felt like I WAS Earn in FUBU episode trying to make it through the day
Season 3 was not bad at all IMO, contrary to what most folks have been saying and is much better than my ranking would suggest. The only knock relative to the other seasons is it didn’t feature the main cast as much as the others. They still hit it out of the park with gems like Trini 2 De Bone and Rich Wigga Poor Wigga.
Season 4 returned to form and hit every single note that made me love the show from the random fukkery to landing the finale which was impossible on paper given the amount of time they had left (10 episodes).
Overall, there will never be another show like this again.
just finished the therapy episode
i know The Coli loved that ending
