I worked in Columbia for 3 years. Made 7 thousand more at 30k in Atlanta. Been established 16 yrs later making closer to 100k later. Trust it’s all about networking and hustle.
No doubt. No doubt. I would most definitely move there if the right opportunity comes along.. I’m from Augusta and we love us some Atlanta lol. Charlotte is good right now for me though.

I'm not a fan of hyperbole and anecdotes, there's always going to be people who fall through the cracks for some reason or another. Living in Texas, O&G isnt anywhere near as nice as it was 10 years ago. It's ticked up a bit, but thousands of engineers and other professionals got laid off. Where did they go? To cities like Atlanta and D.C. And agree with anyone who says you shouldn't take advice from any old dinosaur telling you how your career path should look like.

When you go to college, you not just paying tuition, you also paying to be in a network that will reap tangible rewards, beyond just social in the years and decades ahead.

People use that rhetoric when referring to frats/soro.."you paying for friends"... but actually if you paying to go to school, then essentially you paying to be part of a social network along with obtaining an education...of course you have to do the groundwork in forging relationships....my fellow introverts
them frats/soro's full of homosexuals. Thats not the onlyway you buld a network.

To top it off they are all probably still paying for student loans.

Dam the old saying still holds true “black folks are always in a recession”

Only a small percentage of us is truly thriving. The central bank needs to set aside special loans for black entrepreneurs so we can create jobs for our people. This is crazy.
Thing is all the sign points to the next downturn gonna be just as bad or worse than 2008. When white folk get a cold, black folk get pneumonia. When automation and austerity comes in full force it’s gonna get worse for black people in the coming decades.

I've read conflicting stories, some say bad, but not as bad, some say even worse than the Great Depression.

Atlanta is not for wage workers.

You have to have an entrepreneurial mindset.

You have a huge Black market. Why the fukk can't you sell them something.

Tired of mothafukkas complaining about "TheRes No WaY UnlESs YoU Know a cac exec and bootlick or been a cast member of Drumline"

ATL has a lot of stupid people that want to make money in stupid ways(scammers) also people that spend money equally retarded or even more.

Real estate. Food Truck. Barber Shop. Transportation company. Cleaning and Janitorial. Auto Detailing. Stop talking shyt and make the opportunity for yourself.

I was thinking about this.. .hell if credit today was as available as it was leading up to and during the great depression (more or less UNavailable) , then wed be IN the depression...or something similar..life wouldnt be functional without outrageous credit lines in all arenas...the money jus aint there like that...even for segments of the legitimately well off and stable let along the masses

In Atlanta like most cities I learned it's not what you know..it's WHO YOU KNOW

Nepotisim is strong in Atlanta...the only cats I really see eating in thier field are frat brothers and sorority sisters or people with great networking skills...
(Get some WHITE FRIENDS with Corporate ties)

Because the city is saturated ..you have to stand out by knowing someone plugged in or you will fall on your face ..

Like an ex of mine did....

She had to stay in a extended hotel as well....and she is a college graduate who moved to ATL area

Loves to tout her academic accomplishments just like these people in that article but at the end of the day it don't mean jack shyt if your not CONNECTED
forreal ive been in atl for 2 year i just lost my job that i got through networking. Im learning quickly after sending out tons of resumes that networking is really the only option. they put up a post and 300 people apply in a day. These mfs are quick to fire people too because they have a shyt ton of options. i've only been fired in ATL when i lived in Indy never was fired. That Devon Sumbry dude sounds just like me. Im trying to break into tech but i have to keep working odd jobs and callcenters to pay the bills while i strive for more. Im about to start going to meet ups to get my name out. Its cut throat out here
