What does being better in the ring have to do with his star power? Flair was never hotter than Goldberg, Rock, Austin, or Hogan at any point. Ever. He became a consistent down south draw in the 80s but he wasn't a once in a lifetime type difference maker. Flair was big down south for a period but Rock, Hogan, and Austin were selling out every arena they touched in Japan, Europe, Austrailia, and Africa. It's not even the same coin.

Talking about Cena wrestling in 2001 like you couldn't comprehend the slightiest of comparisons and then getting even more ridiculous by acting like Cena would count had Lesnar not went away after just signing that $40 million deal. Lesnar was who the show revolved around..he was who they kept away from Cripple H and let run wild and went over Rock and Taker clean. They were planning on having Austin lose to him from the get go. Cena and Orton were absolute nobodies compared to his push. Cena debuted as a chump rookie taking Angle to the limit? That was height of their creativity for him? LOL. The fact that any true fan of wrestling can have Cena anywhere their top 20 of all-time is beyond me. He's been the hand picked superstar of this era yet isn't the undisputed best at anything really..he's nowhere near the best wrestler/worker, he has the WOAT promo game, he doesn't sell ANYTHING, he doesn't put anyone over when it matters most, what other superstar from previous eras can you say all thee above things about?
They've had to rely on Taker, Rock and Brock to generate any kind of interest in the past FIVE Wrestlemanias, I don't think he's ever had a match at Mania that anyone cared about until Rock was nice enough to give him attention..it's pretty sad that his Superman reign over the past 9 years has crippled this entire era so drastically even to the point of having to rely on stars of the past, i never remember Rock, Hogan Austin and others having to do so at any time and sadly..when it's all said and done he will be looked at on the same level as Ausin,Rock and Hogan because Vince and WWE's hype machine will sell the lie over and over until it becomes fact..but the more educated fan will always know the truth.
