How much Spanish do I need to be able to speak to get by in Panama? Not moving or anything, just for vacation.
Panama City has alot of bilingual speakers, mostly any one with a college degree speaks English because it’s mandatory at the university level. If you go into the countryside (highly recommend), no one speaks EnglishAt least know how to order food at a restaurant to avoid the awkward back and forth with the waitress. Same thing with knowing what the cashier at the grocery store is going ask you when you check out.
Basically this..know how to order food, talk to cashier and Uber/taxi drivers. Plus if you can halfway hold a conversation you’ll eat with local women
