Had to get all serious huh?

It's cool that there smart but all the stuff they give up for it, is it worth it?

There is a balance. Colleges should only go for your major and not goddamn electives, schools need to be more trade-based, less bullshyt standardized test and less tedious homework, and more human-friendly.

Meh. America is doing poorly but the international students arent any smarter when they come here for university. America wants to dumb down our average while the asians want their average to excel.

When their unis pass ours it will be panic time.

Its because of the focus. Those Asians stress education more than anything. Kids go to school all day, then come home and their parents work with them some more. In some schools kids are preparing for middle and high school placement tests like we prepare for college finals, taking speed and all that.

Its not just a matter of getting better teachers here, we would have to totally change our mindset when it comes to child education. Over here we see having a balanced social life as part of a good education, that means participating in sports, music, etc.... Over there they dont give a shyt about that, its straight up grades.

Them Asians tend to go hard on anything they are interested in. Thats why they end up dying in internet cafe's playing WoW.

Different culture, different work ethic, different mindset.

I have a sister-in-law who is a teacher and she says a lot of parents just don't give a shyt.

She's a smart person and could have gone into business school or law school, but she's got a passion for teaching and want to help:skip:

It kills her that these kids' parents would rather buy them the latest sneakers or apparel than buy materials to do projects. And guess who's parents show up on parents teachers conference? :snoop:

Maybe I'm tripping but, according to that chart, Europe's also ahead but no one really mentions that, everyone's just focused on getting to first place like they don't have to get in second or third place first. Like there some magic formula that's going to get Americans out of 20th and put them in the running for first. It's laughable what motivates people to educate themselves or what motivates people to take education seriously; the threat of being outsmarted.
