You missed my point, and if I did show you a vid what would it matter? In my subjective opinion, don't pay for a service = get what you deserve. I don't play the race card when it comes to money. She didn't want to pay for labor, okay, don't expect to be treated nicely afterwards. This is a human thing, not a race issue. Save that shyt for The Root.
Stop deflecting. The fact still remains you only see BLACK women being brutalized by these other groups. They aren’t mistreating anyone else besides OUR women, regardless if they walked out without paying for nails. They know better than to pull that shyt on a woman.

Black women attempt to fulfill those standards (hair, mani/ pedi on point), get abused, and black men sit around and tut-tut. The early pgs of this thread were very disappointing and I don't even go to them salons. I was raised boycotting Asians.

when i used to date my first and only real boyfriend he was obsessed with me getting manis and pedis. id never spend my money on it and told him if thats what he wanted then he would have to pay. his dumbass actually willingly threw that money away even though i didnt like it, just to flex to his boys or whatever. shyt is just an epic waste of money. if you spend $40 every other weekend after a year that $1000 wasted
and yeah, black salons charge as much bc as americans, we have a standard of living that a lot of immigrant families dont adhere to ie. a black worker will want their own apartment or atleast a decent apartment with 1-2 roommates and a decent commute with enough to pay for a single persons lunch and dinner while an immigrant will live in a community/family house and carpool in together from new jersey and share meals from last nights leftovers at the fam dinner

That's not why black salons charge so much. They charge so much because they have to pay minimum wage, unlike the Asians. Their technicians have to be licensed. They need certain insurances. They get inspected regularly and therefore have to spend money staying up to code. As Americans, we have what they call 'a higher barrier of entry' to starting businesses. Illegals be doing any ol kinda shyt and getting away with it. Here, Mexicans be out here cooking tamales on the damn side walk, but little black girls can't sell lemonade cuz the police on they ass.
About men wanting to spend that money, yeah... I think it's a leftover from the 'provide and protect' days. Courtship includes spending on your lady. Don't deny him his joy, girl. Let that man cook.
