Should've just paid and left. Common law of the skreets in NY. If your barber fukks your hairline up, he'll apologize and offer a better deal next time, but you're paying for the labor. Or you can scrap it out. Same thing applies to nails, eyebrows, tatts, etc. Plus all you're doing in this scenario, is paying the chops to beat you up for 5 dollars.

Ignore the dumbshyt. Fire post and you are correct. However I think women need to spread the message of self reliance out here. Seems most men listen to what women tell them more than other men.
Either way fukk these Asians. I stopped actively supporting any of their businesses years ago. Had a contractor show up to my home that was Korean and I sent him home. Waited weeks until I found a black contractor to do the job. Black people need to find the beauty in being uncomfortable for a little while for a better future.

Love how you handled that contractor situation. We, as a people, tend to avoid temporary discomfort (for many totally legit reasons, life is difficult enough already), but you're right- many times, it's the only way to reach a goal, small or large. Using this situation as an example, in my house, my man would have made the same decision you made. My job would be to provide the feasibility study: how will we manage until we get the black contractor? Can we actually hold out on repairs that long? What do I need to buy/ arrange to make the house flow properly until then? Then he provides the tools. Team work makes the dream work. That's why I suggested men subsidize their women to go to black salons- team work. It would accomplish several goals: a) starving the Asians, b) giving black couples that feeling of 'do for self' accomplishment together, and c) maybe starting a new wave. You know black women would be all over social media like, "Yaaaaasssss, bytch! My man sent me to this black-owned nail shop I ain't even know was there, wine, alldat! #blackexcellence #wakandaforever"
