Fake outrage from people who probably won’t even see the movie regardless.

No, it makes sense because the big selling point of Hamilton was "The story of America's past told by people who look like America today." So why would you make a movie about America today and not have it look like America today? :mjlol:

That being said, I have no interest in this movie, so I don't care. :yeshrug:

He's an Asian director from California. I'm not surprised. He's just reflecting his reality on screen; The bay area basically steals black culture but takes away "black people" if that makes sense. Reminds me of the Japanese are now known for making jazz music despite ADOS creating jazz music. Same goes for funk and RnB today with Kpop.
People actually dapped this fukkin incoherentBabble

You guys are so confused smh

If dominicans were truly racist against people bc of the color of their skin, we wouldve in a civil war in the country for the past 60 years. Most dominicans are brown-black skinned, the beef with Haiti back in the day had nothing to do with the color of their skin. We are on the same island yes buy haiti is basically a foreign country. Different Language, Different Religion, Different Culture. It's tribalism, dominicans don't hate other dominicans because of the color of their skin, only in the coli people really believe that
I didn't understand this when I went down to DR a few years ago myself...stayed near Cofrisi (sp?)

Everyone that lives up in the hills are dark skinned. We went on little excursions and shyt and all the Domincan kids that were running up to us asking for dollars were dark skinned. Everyone in town was chilling together regardless of skin color.

It was a mix everywhere I went on the island.

But I'm not Dominican so I can't really speak on it 100%
When I was in the Dominican I was blown away when I saw all the black people.

The way people talk shyt online you'd think it was 50/50 light-skin and dark-skin. Man, that island is at least 80% black.

And yes I had a dude way darker than me call me Haitian as an insult. :mjlol:. Had me like :childplease: "nikka go look in a mirror"

I will say that the lighter skin Dominicans had more education and better jobs though. :mjpls:

They are and have been since the 60's but that doesn't explain something saying "they" think jazz came from japan?
That's how history works tho

Black people create something, and after enough time has passed and more non black people adopt it the world collectively "forgets" that black people created it

That's not a foreign notion

And i haven't seen out right dismissal of jazz origins from the Japanese, but if I did I wouldn't be surprised

Jazz was also largely abandoned by black folks, which makes it easier for anybody to come in and gentrify

Haiti must be a figment of my imagination then.
Tell the Hatians they are kicking out the country and killing that :usure:
So they hate the Black Haitians, but love the Black Dominicans?

:comeon:

:mindblown::mindblown::mindblown:

I could never understand why so many people believe that Dominicans hate Haitians because of their skin color/race

Has absolutely nothing to do with that it’s more about politics, religion, culture etc. etc.
You talking about two different groups of people who happen to share the same land
I said this on here before ... the best example or analogy of the Dominicans/Haitians dynamic is Israel/Palestine

Posters on this site live in their own little bubble sitting back like armchair experts. Most of these dudes in here can't even get p*ssy that's why the hate for women on this site is so high. As much as I like to post here, i do realize there's a bunch of idiots here that run with a narrative and dap each other up to give themselves validation.

As far as the better jobs go I don't know, maybe that's just what you saw but I know there's a bunch of black dominicans over there that own clubs/restaurants/villas etc

Even saying the term '"black dominican" is fukking weird to me. We all call each other dominican AND THATS IT. only on this site and black Twitter do people have to say white or black dominicans. We don't separate ourselves like that.

My theory has always been that's why we get so much hate from black americans. They see us on a island not giving a fukk about color, just drinking, vibing, partying and all happy to be dominican with our unique culture. Happy to be around each other. White or black skinned we legit do not give a fukk, but all these coli posters want to tell me otherwise :heh:

The one thing everyone runs to is the Trujillo era and what he did to haitians. But people fail to realize how feared that man was and when older dominicans talk about him they all refer to it as "dark times". Dominicans feared him 2, the dude was insane and was trying to join forces with hitler. Obviously he had his fair share of supporters but majority of the island did not fukk with his values
