So the same folks that get made when shows like Empire and other Urban shows only have a few of them are cool when it's all one way with their stuff.

He's an Asian director from California. I'm not surprised. He's just reflecting his reality on screen; The bay area basically steals black culture but takes away "black people" if that makes sense. Reminds me of the Japanese are now known for making jazz music despite ADOS creating jazz music. Same goes for funk and RnB today with Kpop.

Ding ding ding we have a winner!!!

No there isn't

That's according to the COLI. The one place where you have posters from west coast/down south/Midwest that act like they are experts on dominicans and probably only encountered 1 or 2 in real life

Most dominicans are brown to black complexion, even if you're a white dominican you more than likely have black dominicans in your family. Theres no racism amongst dominicans because of skin color, Dominican Republic never had a history of structural racism or anything like the Jim crow era. We had a crazy dictator back in the day who tried to get down with hitler, but everyone universally hates that man

Trujillo was evil man :francis:

I didn't understand this when I went down to DR a few years ago myself...stayed near Cofrisi (sp?)

Everyone that lives up in the hills are dark skinned. We went on little excursions and shyt and all the Domincan kids that were running up to us asking for dollars were dark skinned. Everyone in town was chilling together regardless of skin color.

It was a mix everywhere I went on the island.

But I'm not Dominican so I can't really speak on it 100%

Color isn't
Trujillo was evil man :francis:
He was and even dominicans hated him. That man is not celebrated at all

You'd be surprised. A lot of teenagers nowadays listen to jazz music and say that the japanese make the best music. Whenever you remind them that ADOS created jazz they get mad and say its a lie. Same goes for these weirdos who listen to "lofi hip hop". Lofi hiphop is just smooth jazz from the George Benson area, but these white/Asian kids think that they created something original
my uncle is a trumpet player he's very into this topic
basically he says that japan was always a big listener of jazz music even when he was playing in the 80's 90's
They follow John Coltrane, miles Davis, count Basie, etc and study them like crazy
the difference is japan passed trumpet playing down to their kids but jazz died in the states because of the inherent racism and rap took its place as the pioneering genre
Also the fact that music programs are leaving in the inner cities
BUT you can’t deny black people created this shyt
If this is what’s going on that is disheartening to hear
in fact those kids should be slapped honestly
