I’ve had some great Airbnb experiences fukk what y’all talking bout acting like they’re a bad thing. Then again people on here think lyft and Uber is a dumb thing.

I am very meticulous about which airBnB spots I pick and never just rent a room within a spot where the host is staying. Has to be a property that’s clearly for airBnB reasons. I read the reviews carefully, go for the superhosts and even tho I see cheaper places, I will spend the extra $ for the places that have nicer finishes.

If something looks “off” in the review, I don’t fukk with it

I've stayed in 4 ABNBs. Never had any issues. I prefer hotels, but sometimes the price and convenience of a ABNB makes it more desirable. I'm going to Essence Fest in New Orleans next month. A hotel downtown would run about $600 for a three day trip. The ABNB in the same area is going to run about $300. It's a fully decked out house with a kitchen. The key is to look at the reviews. I always make sure to pay attention to reviews from black people to make sure the host is on the up and up.

There were a bunch of larger stores/dept stores in Harlem in the 1930s/40s/50s/60s that flat out refused to hire so called Negroes but had no problem “allowing” those same Negro patrons to spend money there. Folks eventually wised up and refused to shop where they couldn’t work but it shouldn’t have taken that long.

At the close of the day the business shuts down and the resources leave the community right along with the owner until the next day. As a result, the community is at the mercy of the business owner, who can shut down for good at any moment.

That's something I also don't get. You can deny a reservation for whatever reason. Given that she's racist, she could have declined the booking off of the profile pic alone.
