The Left makes sense when they argue that people are stealing bread (or selling drugs) to feed themselves or their families.
Property crime, be it to sustain or floss, is about resources.

But

The leftists/socialists always try to explain violent crime as lack of economic opportunity.

As if every violent act has some underlying economic basis.
  • A dude disrespects another dude - that's about money
  • Somebody kills a crew member - that's about jobs
  • A dude sleeps with another dudes girl - yeah, that's really an economic issue
  • A chick gets buck and gets backhanded - You know if was in a good paying job, he wouldn't be so stressed
And they say capitalists reduce human beings to numbers.

Toddler siblings punch and bite each other. They don't even contemplate a market economy - but per the Left, the roots of the conflict are economic in nature...

I mean if we pump enough money into a community, so that it's as spread out as the white community, with very little human contact - I guess that would solve the problem of violence...

Meanwhile most poor areas are dense, and most poor people aren't committing property crimes, much less violent ones.

At their core, the Left doesn't really like to deal with human nature, and its ugly side.

That's why their systems fail.
Thank you.

We know there is domestic violence, and a ton of drug abuse in white suburbs. Money does not make you a better person.

None of that addresses the people already on the streets doing shyt though. There's no program for the dude with 5 bodies and enemies after him looking for get back. The immediate solution can't be only implement something in 5 years that can show results in 15. Something has to be done about the current state of events. A small percentage of gangs are the actual killers, that's why they become known in the streets...something needs to happen to those people, and it's not a job.
What's stopping the police from arresting people like this now?

You see the game do you lol. Its easier to make black people the face of crime and violence :mjpls:
How are so many ppl in this thread missing this? I’d imagine most crime in Oakland is intra-racial. Since most gangs up there don’t bang on other race like SoCal. I guess Nortenos and Asian gangs and organized crime don’t exist to the NAACP.

Factory workers, car mechanics, truck drivers, plumbing apprentice, HVAC apprentice, construction workers, transit divers, airport security,…

But yeah “I can’t find a job so it’s OK for me to steal” though…
My high school, which was about 50% black, and 50% a combination of white, Latino, and a sprinkle of Asians had a vocational program. The majority of the kids who took advantage were black. By the time they graduated, they had cosmetology licenses, culinary degrees, dental assistant, plumbing, hvac, heating and cooling, mechanics. We also had something called Co-op, and if you had a part time job, you went to school half a day, and got the rest of the day off to go to work. Those kids had parents who pushed them to make something of themselves.

You're ignoring there also being an extremely distorted view of what the crime situation is actually like due to the Cops and Media working together via the cops PR teams to push propaganda for funding. Which happens seemingly everywhere in the country. It happened here in my own city, there were constant stories about crime being bad and as soon as a vote to increase police funding at the expense of bar and restaurant patrons happened it went away seemingly over night.

I keep saying it's a grift, we keep seeing it over and over again and all of y'all constantly fall for it. At the very least cops are being purposefully negligent on the job.

I'm sick and fukking tired of this song and dance where cops extort cities for money in order to increase their pay and fatten their pockets and they never actually do shyt. It's nothing but a fukking grift.

Welcome to #Bothsides. Cant say Im happy to have you,but we need the numbers:respect:

Theres a contingent of Americans who think we are simply one crackdown on crime away from getting back to the relative low violence rate of the late 90s to early 2000s. I mean after all, theres a lot of data that implies ihat the crime bill worked so why not?

I hate to be the one to say it, but those days are gone and a tough on crime approach simply will not work anymore. During the turn of the millenium you could make the case that once crime was curbed down, the lower cost of living along with a more viable economy mean that there were built in deterrents that (mostly) kept kids away from crime.

Not to mention, 9/11 and the ensuing war on terror ensured a generation of young (and many aimless) men enlisted and therefore weren’t on the streets, participating in crime. AND the GWOT also tossed Law Enforcement into the 21st century with significant strides made in surveillance, inter agency cooperation/communication and rapid, agile, task forces being the norm which means crime was harder to commit.

Now look at the state of our world in 2023. Crime is less organized nowadays, so surveillance isnt as potent a tool anymore. Those earl viable options are gone Cant go to college because of the debt impact. Cant save to buy a house by working at Best Buy anymore. Wont join the military because they spent 20 years getting people killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and nobody wants to be apart of that. The few who DO want to join, cant because of health issues or theyre chronic marijuana users. Investing in yourself and your community by buying a house and settling down is not feasible for most young people. It has been replaced by mindless consumption of food, cars, guns, clothing, video games, “content”, porn and drugs most of which are substanceless hobbies that do little to anchor someone to the world around them

BLUF: Kids have noting to live for nowadays. Not unless they have exceptional parenting and guidance. Aimless youth are going to find something to do, even if its robbing, doing heroin, or drag racing a charger in residential area.

I get people wanting a solution and im tired of it too. But understand the cops are an industry first, public servants second. Im all for increased funding IF the cops can have a detailed, multifaceted, thorough plan on how their increase in funding/powers is going to make a dent in crime ALONG WITH deadlines and timestables that if not met, will result in loss of the increase in funding.

But that level of planning, accountability and collaboration will never happen. Our politicians are too spineless, cops are too entitled, and the public is too dumb, overworked, and impulsive to understand a nuanced solution.

Being tough on crime is just a temporary solution in the hopes that the drastic change in policy will cause people to start raising their fukking kids right in the short term
No one believes it's going address every social economic ill. We just want the murder rate to go from 500 to 250 a year

I think if people don't live in these crime heavy areas they need to respectfully fall back. It's easy to pontificate about how things should be and should be ran while none of the crime affects you and you live in a whitebread suburb surrounded by cacs. There are black people who have to live in these areas and experience it in real time and if they themselves are saying something needs to be done about it I'm gonna have to defer to them.

The statement lost me at "the release of emergency resources"

:feedme:NAACP got its hand out
Until they address the poverty, none of this will matter, and the shyt will continue.
Only thing to say. Our elected officials both sides got way out of pocket. Create opportunity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being anti cop is extremely consistent with leftism. So what are you even talking about here?

You don't think that's a right wing position, do you? :heh:

You have been calling out democrats alot lately and holding them accountable. I regret to inform you, negativity against democrats is considered rightwing. You are now Godless Bothsides CEO:respect:
