These kids are doing this shyt to ball out the gate. They see other people doing it and getting a slap on the wrist or flat out getting away with it and they wanna do the same thing

This is not about survival

A lot of these kids ain’t even below the poverty line

Once the culture becomes about illegal flash, and that's what they see, of course they will imitate. If magically we could go back to the 70s model where random guy x could get a job right out of high school and retire in 30 years with a home, cars and family taken care of, make it available to everyone, crime would be all but eradicated in a generation, maybe two. People who have nothing to lose do fukked up shyt, and kids learn watching what adults do. These are the children and grandchildren of the Crack Era, Reaganomics, the loss of the middle class.

Some of y’all are out of touch with reality

Poor people who are really committing crimes to survive are usually doing non violent shyt. They just want to eat and have a place to live.
They’re not hurting anyone unless they feel they have no choice.

A lot of the people committing these violent crimes (especially the young ones) are literally using the money to buy designer clothes and other unimportant material shyt. They want a high end lifestyle that they can only afford by committing crimes and they’re gonna get what they want by any means.

Poverty has to be addressed, but the people that actually live in these areas want a more immediate fix. Unfortunately there is no immediate fix.

Yea, that’s what I was curious about as well. The numbers are what they are and can’t be written off as WS propaganda. We all see it around us. We’ve normalized it in our community and it wasn’t always like this. I definitely think bad policy is partly to blame though.

Nothing he is saying is confusing. He is saying cops started a PR campaign of fear in the wake of George Floyd to eliminate accountability measures and people get flooded with stories of crime to raise their fears and then once whatever police accountability measure fails or police funding is increased, these stories disappear. In fact, violence crime is actually down this year but still above 2019 levels (pre-pandemic), which was basically record lows.

I agree, that materialism drives crime, but its not related to poverty which is a different motivation than the influences of clout and image.

Social media is driving crime just like drill music is...thats not like stealing deodorant and soap and food.

The only spots being hit are luxury stores and fast cars. Thats not the woe is me shyt all these activists are force feeding us to accept.
