Philly going to get worse because they are pushing people (poverty) to different areas in the city as it rapidly goes through gentrification and development booms. I don't live the city anymore been out in the counties for 8 years but I have family there still and it's just fukked up.

Statistically speaking warmer months = more crime. But like @Barnett114 already posted. Currently the crime is way down now.

Pennsylvania and Maryland in general probably have the most white hoods on the east coast. Some of these towns in PA are white hoods galores such as Wilks Barre Scranton to name a few.

I lived in Philly for 20 years. I've been in Chicago for 3.

I have my apprehensions about both cities. As mentioned before, philly has no gangs; I never feared being in any part of Philly, however you'll get banged by someone who you took the parking spot someone else shoveled out in the winter.

On the other hand, Chicago is gang heavy...there's about 4-5 neighborhoods I won't be caught dead in. Tell me why when I first moved here, I damn near made the mistake of living in Englewood...
