sounds reasonable enough
does this pertain to even shytty movies that people will probably not watch?

I don't think spoiler tags for a movie that is clear of embargo and released worldwide is necessary. If you haven't seen it, stay the fukk out of the thread. It's really that simple.
Just putting my 2 cents out there. The vast majority of The Film Room voted no untagged spoilers for 3 days after the release.
I gotta go by what was voted.
Fred.
@hex I disagree with this purely because it’s too hard to enforce. And I’m someone who has been here since day 1. People have known since the start that going into a thread AFTER a movie is a recipe for getting spoiled. This is amplified for highly anticipated movies.
I’m against separate threads (spoiler and non-spoiler) because the conversation gets too fragmented and AGAIN it’s too hard to enforce. People always converge on the official thread.

If anyone who voted for this complains about someone getting banned because of this rule. They should be banned too.Fam....I held a vote. As you can see, the overwhelming majority voted for this.
I've said several times during the thread, I mostly don't care about spoilers. So I have no dog in this fight, I let the board decide.
And I wouldn't say it'll be difficult to enforce. People don't spoiler tag for the first 3 days....someone reports it....and it's handled.
I think this will mostly be a nonfactor because #1 generally speaking people were using spoiler tags on the big movies anyway and #2 this working is predicated on people caring enough to Report it.
If, despite the vote, nobody is Reporting when this rule is broken then obviously it's not that big a deal. If they do Report it, the rule is working.
