As an avid movie theater goer, it pains me to see the state of the industry.

Streaming is the future. The same way Redbox killed movie gallery and blockbusters, streaming will kill the movie theater I believe.

This pandemic is just expediating the process.
Theaters created the modern blockbuster. They go together.

Streaming will probably bring back the mid budget movie cause there is no way the studios can justify 150 million budgets on subscriptions.

feel sorry for a multibillion dollar industry that sold u overpriced tickets and shyt popcorn for decades....
This.

It shouldn't cost the average family of four almost $80 to $100 to see a movie together, ESPECIALLY when most movies lately have made for trash theater experiences.

Just about ere'thing I've seen during the pandemic has been UNWORTHY of having been viewed at the theater.

The "experience" is overrated as fukk and can really fukking suck depending on the audience and even who you went with.

In my house I have better image quality, fantastic sound, can pause the movie if I have to go take shyt or get something to eat, can eat/ drink/smoke what I want, it's awesome.

Loving these post pandemic times and hope they become the new normal.

shyt movie tickets are too high. Luckily there is a Movie Tavern near me that has $5 Tuesday. They give out free popcorn and also have a discounted food menu that day as well.

Yeah, particularly OG Netflix when you could order movies and return them whenever you were ready. Don't know why that slipped in my mind.

Damn just looked this up and I had no idea this is how Netflix started lmao. Also it seems they only expanded to Europe in 2014, crazy how it looks like they've always been around now.

crazy huh?

OG Netflix was the shyt, would burn and return shyt, and streaming was an after thought...they had next to nothing worthwhile to stream...mostly d level dvd movies :heh:

Nah netflix killed blockbuster and the local mom and pops video shops. I guess ill have my old nikka moment cause as a kid the only way my folks could get me to behave was going to the flicks on friday or saturday and im passin that on to my kids. Streaming is for the antisocial add crowd.

the theater experience is the reason why some flicks are classics to me like seeing the dance parties bust out in the lobby after watchin the OG houseparty
