Higher ratings would be great if only so we didnt have to see these sort of articles. But the NBA is not failing or anything.
My main suggestions are:
1. Let teams spend over the cap with no penalty but any money they spend over the cap must be matched and spent on their WNBA team.
2. Expand the restricted area. Guys sliding under dudes
trying to draw fouls is disgusting and dangerous.
3. Reduce the season to 62 games. Play everyone in division three times and every other team twice. Home and home.
Bizarro suggestions:
Teams can only attempt a certain amount of threes, team fouls don't count until the fourth quarter, get rid of four point play.

The game is just interesting as it once was. Even the number of replies on here as gone down drastically. No game thread like it used to be just a whole lot of bullshyt. When was the last interesting nba finals?

I've said this before.....I remember when teams had different styles of play. Some were a jump shooting finesse team, some were a physical defensive orientated team etc

That might be fun to watch for you, but TV ratings aren't declining because those fun matchups don't exist anymore.
What you find entertaining and what young cats today find entertaining aren't the same thing. They're not going to suddenly get cable and sit down and watch games by traditional methods all because these so-called fun matchups make a return.
Those games were fun to you because that's what you grew up on. There were complaints about the 90s product and how it was watered down, so let's not pretend like your opinion of finding them fun was shared by everyone else.
Now explain why Baseball, WNBA, College Football, NFL, etc are not having these huge declines.
