As a whole, the NBA has lost around 45% of its viewership since 2012.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
It’s a number of factors.

1. Young star players end up in shytty markets/franchises and nobody gets to see them play.

2. Players like Jokic, Giannis, and even Luka are not exciting most of the time. And they don’t have any real star power.

3. Zion was supposed to be the future superstar but flamed out.

4. College basketball doesn’t have any real stars and these one and done “developmental” players have infested the league to the point some games feel like G League games.

5. The fact that players like LeBron, Steph, and KD are still dominant speaks to the lack of completion.

6. Scoring is cool, but after a while, watching shytty defense gets old.

7. Too many players make too much money to actually give a shyt half the time.

I can keep going, but if not for the old players like Lebron, people would barely watch. Anthony Anderson and LaMelo Ball should be in better markets.

Wemby despite is freak of nature physical abilities, is surrounded by no names besides Chris Paul and the Spurs won’t be relevant anytime soon.

Style of play is ass

Steph is Steph..he draws because he’s the originator of that style ..From Davidson to the league that’s him and ppl associate it wit him.

ppl is not trying to see Anfernee Simons,Norm Powell , and Payton Pritchard with the greenest lights of all time .

Coby White looked off Vucevic so egregiously to put up some bullshyt I almost had a stroke .
-

The stars are wack because that style of play is wack…these young nikkas have all the bounce and flash in the world ..but they putting up bullshyt side step threes from 35 feet…that is ass

Then a nikka wil say some shyt like “well if he shoote 34% from three it’s a good shot”

nikka plz

Using that same logic did people love seeing Corey Maggette & Jerry Stackhouse shoot mid range fadeaways like they did MJ & Kobe? :skip: Yet that didn’t stop them from having a green light

it ain't stupid if you're a streaming service whose very survival is reliant upon exclusivity and they know y'all ain't paying for cable, so they're gonna find another way to get to your pockets.

It's the life people chose.

because it is.

as for not wanting other players to have that kind of green light, either the league is overflowing with talent or it's not. You got people crying about the need for expansion yet when expansion level players shoot, y'all hate that too.

I read an article today suggesting that the dunk should be worth 3 points to offset all the three point shooting which is crazy, but then the article also points out that teams simply don't shoot if it's inside the 2 point line and outside the paint. There's no going back to them days of drawing up plays for a 20 footer.
people have this thing with saying the league is more talented because they are better at shooting from distance … A bunch of nikkas Shooting catch and shoot threes from 30 doesn’t mean they’re more insanely more talented than yesteryear…no the nikka is just good at shooting .

Is Payton Pritchard more skilled than a PG with a back to the basket game just because he can pull it from a step behind the three point line ?

the league is overflowing with talent but Cody Williams be out there doing HIIT cardio and Taj Gibson out here still getting minutes .

People use the fact that Shaq wouldn’t be Shaq today because of the style of play….then act like that’s an indictment against him. Imagine a nikka with the ability to be prime Shaq not getting a chance to fulfill that potential because the league want Lauri Markanen and Myles Turner to get their shyt off :dead:

Supposed to be immune from legal streams?

According to whom?
Illegal streams I mean. Even with the cord cutting and move to illegal streaming, sports were "supposed" to be immune from that. Emphasis on supposed.

Unless we'd like to forget why sports leagues were getting overpaid compared to everyone else

Hell naw

The difference is that the entire league wasn’t filled with nikkas doing Kobe impressions .

Every game today is a glorified 3pt contest .

They haven't lost half the audience.

There's more people who watch/follow NBA than ever before.

The only difference is how they're digesting it.

Cable has been on life support for a minute now and there are too many restrictions with League Pass, to where now [illlega] streaming has taken over. TV ratings are going to reflect that. There's also the fact that as a society we're much more shrewd with how we digest entertainment, given the abundance of it, where instead of watching a random Tuesday night NBA game, we'll just check the highlights (or box score) and instead play video games, or watch highlights from another sport, or stream a series/film or create your own content for others to watch.

Add Gambling sites show all the NBA games anyway. For obvious reasons via Laptop tablet or mobile.

You can feel that way but the idea that there wasn’t plenty of bullshyt offense going on then ain’t true

Plenty of guys had green lights they shouldn’t have had

Casual fans have always been drawn to larger than life superstars, regardless of how they played
