Between 2016 and 2023, the number of basketball participants in the U.S. increased by 33 percent (

The percentage of people who're fans of the NBA has increased; the percentage of people playing hoops has increased.
And that's before we take into account the rest of the world where the viewership/following has increased tenfold. Countries that previously didn't have access to games, now do. Countries that previously had no resources to play hoops (gateway to following the NBA), now do. The game has been ever-expanding since 2012.
Cats in here complaining about how the game isn't what it was in the 80s or 90s, as if it means anything. Young kids, teenagers and young adults have absolutely no concept of those eras, so it's not like they can reminisce
about the good ole times when there wasn't 3-pt shooting.
