As a whole, the NBA has lost around 45% of its viewership since 2012.

Yes, social media is how folks consume sports these days. Not watching games on cable (because they no longer have it).

You specifically asked me - "More people are into the NBA than ever? By what metric? Show us."

And I showed you.

Notice how you don't have anything to say about the increase in followers of the NBA in this country, and the increase of basketball participants in this country
, nor anything about how the outreach of the NBA across the globe has been ever-increasing over the last decade.
Watching clips is how people consume the game? Not watching full games? Thanks for proving my point. No one wants to sit through an NBA game

NEVER HEARD OF THEM
BUT I HEARD THIS STAT ON
"IT IS WHAT IT IS" AND MADE THE THREAD.

ANYTHING ELSE IS IRRELEVANT.

So now that you know that you're using a white supremacist to confirm your bias, you don't see why that's a problem?Did you find another source about this topic?

People watch full games, more than ever, because the accessibility to them is greater than it was 20, 30, 40+ years ago. Again, you will NOT get an accurate number of this looking at TV ratings, because they don't account for streaming. The NBA fanbase is dominated by a younger generation, and they don't watch the games by traditional methods (like cable).

You contested my point of "There's more people who watch/follow NBA than ever before."

I provided proof of this. Irrefutable proof that the NBA has a larger following than ever.

Now, as I've stated multiple times throughout this thread, because we're living in a time where we have endless avenues of entertainment, where folks sitting down and watching a game from start to finish, uninterrupted, is a less likely occurence because we're on our phones, or playing video games or keeping track of another sport or streaming a tv series etc. We're trying to consume all this entertainment, all at once, and trying to put it down to how bad you think the NBA product is because they're not watching full games is disingenuous.

I remember I use to be able to watch my basketball team on local channels. Now you need either league pass or that one particular cable streaming provider in order to watch the game legally. fukk all that

This is 100% fake news by Clay Travis who selectively posts about NBA to to create the illusion that all other sports are seeing viewership increases except the NBA.

Here’s an example of the type of slop Clay Travis posts:

Couldn’t even take the L like a man. :umad:

MJ Stans have to create an alliance with MAGA grifters to stay above water. :mjlol:

This is what this board has turned into.

A haven for disinformation.

If it wasn't enough these #BothSides cats infect other subforums with their bullshyt, they're now leaking in the sports section. Notice how there's absolutely no attempt at taking down the link and providing a reputable one, just running with the same shyt like nobody will notice they use Right-wing propaganda to fuel their beliefs.

Even worse, making up a blatant lie about the league losing near half it's viewership.

Style of play is ass

Steph is Steph..he draws because he’s the originator of that style ..From Davidson to the league that’s him and ppl associate it wit him.

ppl is not trying to see Anfernee Simons,Norm Powell , and Payton Pritchard with the greenest lights of all time .

Coby White looked off Vucevic so egregiously to put up some bullshyt I almost had a stroke .
-

The stars are wack because that style of play is wack…these young nikkas have all the bounce and flash in the world ..but they putting up bullshyt side step threes from 35 feet…that is ass

Then a nikka wil say some shyt like “well if he shoote 34% from three it’s a good shot”

nikka plz

And dudes like Austin Reaves stammering around the court flopping.

Ja, Ant, and Zion should be the leaders of the new school all of them have exciting playing styles.

The problem is Zion and Ja can't stay on the court.

I can say for myself, I watch much, much less games than in the past -- somewhat to do with getting older, having a family, but also I find the games boring and there are better ways to spend my time. I dont have that problem with the NFL, I can lock into just about any game.

over 50% of the NBA revenue comes from local/national TV deals, so its definitely a concern moving forward for the league how they replace that lost revenue. Im a bit surprised they landed such a massive national tv/media deal, because less people are watching games. The local tv money is drying up in real time in a big way. Monetizing social media, clips. etc is harder to do.

The NFL is boring to me these days but I love the NFL back until the end of the Vick era and until they messed over Kap.

I find college football way more entertaining these days.

And I was a person that thought that people saying college football was better were clowns.
