As a whole, the NBA has lost around 45% of its viewership since 2012.

Even if it was a one game regular season, it's still the regular season and regular season games don't matter. So if you can get somebody to pay you billions of dollars for meaningless games why are we trying to change it .
Idk what perspective you’re thinking of, but the point of that post was in reference to the player’s. The very reasoning for load management is to make sure you last the season. If the season is shorter, then there’s less of a chance of that occurring

Style of play is ass

Steph is Steph..he draws because he’s the originator of that style ..From Davidson to the league that’s him and ppl associate it wit him.

ppl is not trying to see Anfernee Simons,Norm Powell , and Payton Pritchard with the greenest lights of all time .

Coby White looked off Vucevic so egregiously to put up some bullshyt I almost had a stroke .
-

The stars are wack because that style of play is wack…these young nikkas have all the bounce and flash in the world ..but they putting up bullshyt side step threes from 35 feet…that is ass

Then a nikka wil say some shyt like “well if he shoote 34% from three it’s a good shot”

nikka plz
Norm Powell been fukking cooking and his jumper is gorgeous

I don’t know how anyone can call themselves a fan of basketball and not :ahh: at this

Don’t understand this critique. In your mind what should Norm Powell and these other guys do :mjtf:

But that's my point though, it leads to redundancy in play from teams. I'm not even saying every team needs to play like early 2000's 76ers where you had one guy and everybody clear out so he can get a bucket, just variety. Teams can be trying to win, that's fine, just don't be surprised when people stop finding it entertaining because every team does the same thing. It's like how the league had to add the shot clock because if teams realized they had you beat by a point, they could just hold the ball, shyt stopped being entertaining to watch.
My boy we not coaches or analysts.

Most of us don’t understand complex X’s and O’s it’s ignorant to me to say that every team plays the same way.

The average person is NOT going through the effort to watch streams, so lets dead that. The reality is many people aren't tuning into the game because the regular season has become a joke and that's because of 1)injuries/rest and 2) lack of identity in teams. Every team plays the same, just jacking up 3's. It's not entertaining to watch in the regular season.

Well we can just look at the difference in teams' shot profiles over the years to give us the answers:manny:

Teams shoot threes at varying degrees and that’s not what indicates playing style.

Two teams can shoot threes but generate those looks in different ways.

What are we taking about here? A lot of these threes would simply be pull up midranges and pick and pop 18 footers like players like Garnett and Oakley used to take all the time. Is it really that serious? We’re losing ratings because motherfukkers are shooting a few feet back.

Threes aren’t the issue.

Yeah but the casual fan isn't thinking that nuanced. You can generate threes in different ways but to a casual fan they just see threes going up.

Nba dead , goofy mf’s talking bout “ bu but but the new contract/biggest contracts ever”. That’s sponsorship driven

Nobody watches this shyt it sucks, lowest ratings since the 70’s. While football dominates as usual stop using the cable excuse

Next season you’ll need Amazon prime, peacock and espn to watch games fukk that

And what’s the alternative?

Midrange going up? Spot up midrange shots? Cats running off screens and stopping at 15-18 feet to shoot like Rip Hamilton? Bigs popping out to the long two and not the three point line?

That wouldn’t do shyt it wouldn’t increase the ratings.

People do not have the attention span for hard core sports viewership anymore it’s that simple. Most people are regurgitating shyt and talking out of their ass.

I mean I'm still watching and keeping up with hoop, this is just what I see casual fans/people who fell out of the loop say. I don't necessarily have the answers, that's for the league to figure out, but like I said I'm a guy who's gonna pay attention and watch games regardless. I've said this in this thread multiple times lol I'm still watching basketball.

Edit: I have been to NBA games within the last calendar year, don't know how many times I have to keep saying this isn't my personal opinion.

Everyone felt a way when the NFL didn’t allow people to post highlights.

I called it a smart move. You control how people ingest the game.

As I wrote in my article in 2001… The NBA’s problem is that they focused too much on the back of the jersey rather than the front of the jersey. And that all started when they left CBS.
post ur article breh

It's been building. I think Bron going to Miami and building that super team rubbed a lot of fans and former players the wrong way. And from there it's just gotten worse and worse.

I hope Steph never leave GS, it wouldn't be right. He's built a legacy over there and it's easy to watch that team because of it. If you think about Paul George, if he stayed with the Pacers, his legacy would be that he's a Pacer legend like Reggie trying to win a championship and that storyline would write in it off itself. Same with the OKC Harden/KD/Westbrook. It's why I'm glad the C's didn't listen to all the bozos talking about breaking up Tatum/Brown. Those guys should be C's for their entire career.

I'm not against player movement, but if there's gonna be this type of movement for superstars, then the league should rethink about how they're marketing their product and focus on teams otherwise it's just gonna be a casual sport to follow.
Lol no bro. Bron’s Decision was a huge positive for the NBA from a ratings and consumption perspective.
