Revolutionary nikka, nobody was doing this shyt before '94... Wu Tang's Boom Bap rap style aint original, deal with it :rom:
Yourr a clown. What about Bone attracts a pop audience in 2013?
Was Bone ever the darling of the new york based media the way Wu was/is? Did bone get covers of the Rolling Stone? Are hipster douche bag caks on Bones nuts or Wu?
Does your retarded azz even know why this topic came up in the first place you inbred ape? Its because some donkey said This thread is longer than Bones career, well the response to that is Bone will outsell Wu today so what that make Wu?
lol @ "TO US they were just fast rapping".
no. youre the slow one.
obviously you dont get the gist of what im saying here, even tho it should already be understood, yet i still took the time to spell it out for you.
You got it chief. That's all Bone right there - they invented that. Singing on an interlude...or even on a full song...and they're not even singers like that...they're rappers.
Problem is - it's insignificant when it comes to hip-hop.
You should be arguing that Bone's delivery was unlike anything in rap - that's significant.
Lol when you cant respond go off on a distracting rant?
Ive already woken up, done my morning swim and had breakfast. Squeezed in time to put ya monkey ass in place and now off to work. You sleep in there lil buddy and make sure you eat some cheerios on your way to school lil buddy

I don't think anybody understood the gist of what you're getting at? Please spell it out for us.
lol @ people claiming that they dont see the bone thug influence in ludacris.
this is the most well-known of numerous examples:
chit, ciara wouldnt have been singing like this on the track if it wasnt for bone neither.

bone's promotion was never all that. dont compare their promotion to the wu. wutang got way more promo.
and yes, im glad that you remember that. yet, people are in here talking like wutang was some underground underdogs and bone was supposedly some commercial @$$ group.
that album was considered wack.
how is it insignificant when tons of rappers have followed their lead at some point, one way or another? whether it be that or bone's brand of double-time rapping.
acting as if they werent extremely influential is foolishness.
if you dont understand what im saying, then the message isnt for you.
the sad part is, that its already been spelled out by myself and others numerous times. theres nothing more that can be said at this point.
@Big Mel understood what we meant. because big mel is hip-hop.
@Big Mel - what makes Wu a "white person's group"? Wacky's being difficult.
Reread what I said there. I said there rapping was influential and significant. This is the second time I've said that Bone was influential.
The "I'm a rapper but I'm just gonna sing on this particular song" is insignificant.
The album was considered wack (and was wack) but it sold and the single was a big hit. Plus wasn't he locked up when it came out?
I didn't compare Bone's promotion to Wu's. I said both were well promoted. What promotion do you think Bone wasn't getting? The singles and videos were out there. Everybody knew when the albums were coming. Maybe it was different in Philly?
I mean - they didn't get Madonna promotion...but neither did Wu. I'll spot you that Wu got more promotion than Bone. That seems reasonable. Especially the second album.
No one is saying Bone is commercial - just that their music is inherently more palatable to a mainstream audience. In the same way that Doggystyle had a broader appeal than Illmatic. Hell - I still don't fully understand why the Wu blew the way they did. Even with a huge push - their first album was super gutter. I think a lot of it had to do with ODB and Meth being as magnetic as they were at that time.
I was hoping you were going to have some backstory on that MTV special. I tried to find it on Youtube last night but couldn't. I douldn't even find anything written about it.
Wu never got a cover of Rolling Stone. RZA did because they were on tour with RATM, which was one of the biggest groups in the world at the time.
Regardless, Pac, BIG, and Jay-Z got covers too. What does that have to do with anything?
And BONE did songs with Phil Collins and Gwen Stefani so at trying to play the race card.
Lastly, neither group really attracts a mainstream audience in 2013, but to act like BONE doesn't have a more pop friendly, commercially viable sound, is

Of course they're going to sell more. Look at how they sound.
Fred.
You guys are starting to contradict yourselves. @Ronnie Lott said numerous times that Bone has more of an R&B melodic sound. That type of sound is going to be more appealing to a mainstream/pop audience. It's not a knock on Bone - that was their sound - they weren't intentionally softening their sound to attract the mainstream.
