I ain't sayin wu-tang aren't legendary. But the west coast wasn't really bumpin the Wu like that. But we were definitley supportin Bone thugs tho. I think it just came down to the type of production being the factor. Smoother, laid back beats , the harmonizing couple with the fact that they had the Eazy E cosign helped a lot too. I have always supported Bone thugs more than the Wu :manny:

The Wu had a fan base in Northern Cali - but on the whole you're probably right.

Yeah the wu had a lot of support from asians and philipinos in norther cali. That is a fact

Wu is the reason that there is a Rock the Bells concert held in Cali every year. The owner knew Wu were big in Cali, based his tour around them getting back together on stage and it turned out to be a HUGE success. Californians went crazy for Wu and still do...EVERY YEAR. It wasn't just Filipinos and asians neither.

i didnt say they stopped getting money. i just said that they were no longer poppin.

they became a white peoples' group by that point. theyre still eating off of white folks to this very day.

lol @ the thought of niccas rockin wu-wear in 1999.

edit: i remember my pops had a pair of wutang jean shorts around that time. he got em for cheap at marshall's for like 10 bucks.

When exactly did Bone become a white people's group would you say? And which group attracts the higher quality white fan? I would say the Wu IMO. Whites that like Wu, Native Tounges, Hiero > whites that like Bone, No Limit and Cash Money.

Also - the Wu was in a critical decline in 1999 moreso than a commercial one. I would say their white fan base declined from what it was in 1997 (by 1999)

Thats where you  With Bone its more than just "fast rap".. the multisyllabes, combined with the harmonizing and tongue twisting is what makes bone unique and why motherfukkers till this day like Drake, Future, Ludicrous stay emulating some form of their style.. aint nobody trying to imitate wu tang in this day and age

How are any of those artists emulating what Bone did? I'll give you Bone had a unique thing going with the sing song delivery rapping (I'm not even gonna get into whether they originated the style - who cares?). But Drake is just a rapper who also sings? Would you say Lauryn Hill is emulating Bone? Future is more of a T-Pain clone to me - but I don't pay much attention to future and don't understand yet why anyone would!

I'm completely lost on the connection with Luda.

He's just pulling names out his ass. I can't remember not one of those dudes that he named, sounding like Bone Thugs.

hahhahhah Bone influenced Drake, Lauryn Hill and Future? That's pretty stupid. You're better off citing guys like Freddie Gibbs and Logic, and even then they're more like Twista than Bone.

Look, I love Bone...but don't start pulling this bullshyt...

Bruh. I've been to rock the bells a few times. Most of the fans are not black. I'm serious mane. Black folks in the bay don't really fukk with wu-tang. I'm talkin about "NYGGAZ" don't. Like we don't ride around blastin wu-tang in the car. Nyggaz in cali weren't on the block and in the streets bumpin wu-tang. Most wu-tang fans in northern cali are white or asian

You know what's up to specifically call out Filipinos! They rocked with Bone too though.

Philipinos fucced with bone. But not like they supported wu-tang. I remember back in like middle school. Philipinos were wearing wu-wear, wallabees and rugbys heavy. Pinos and asians were worrshipping wu tang and acted like they were from the east

I know this, I never stated they weren't. I was just trying to point out how big they ARE in Cali. They're bigger out there than they are out here in NY. I really don't care how many of their fans are white, asian, whatever. Most BIG hip hop fans have predominantly white fan bases. Even Bone. Mind you, they are not as big as Wu but look at this thread. Two of the biggest trollers for Bone in here are cac bastids... @ReformedWigger and @CACtain Planet
