please try and comprehend my reply a little better. I said that double time flow, also known as double time RAPPING started in brooklyn because of the dancehall influence perpetrated by the abundance of Dreds who were around. I am keeping the 2 genres separate. we are talking hip hop here.

Like I said..double time rapping aka toasting started in Jamaica..

Oh shyt:

After successful touring in the US under the Chrysalis record label, Freddy came to England in 1987. His first UK work was a collaboration with Asher D called, Raggamuffin Hip-Hop. This album created a new style of music that was a fusion of Jamaican ragga and UK hip-hop.[1] The anthemic title track has the much sampled vocal, "The ragga-muffin, the ragga-muffin, hip-hop". Freddy also managed to influence and support fledgling UK reggae stars, Top Cat, Tenor Fly and Prento Youth who went on to the legendary Coxsone Sound and the record label Congo Natty.

This was recorded in England...I guess the uk has more of say in double timing then New York :skip:

but toasting and rapping arent the same thing....the same way a tenor aint the same as a thrash metal vocalist despite both being classified as "singers". you are being stupid. Like I said.....despite acknowledging the dancehall influence on double time rapping in NEW YORK, I am also acknowledging the separation of the 2 genres.

i totally respect the argument that Wu is better than Bone, even the argument that Wu is the greatest rap group ever

but i cant respect the idea that Bone vs Wu is not debatable

Bone is EASILY a top 10 rap group regardless of your tastes or preferences

Wu
Bone
NWA
PE
Tribe
Kast
RUN DMC

^^ permanent members of any top 10 rap group list

I'm not mad at Bpne being in someones top ten list - but I disagree that they have a permanent spot. I think I agree with all your other choices fwiw.

once again, youve proven my point.so very helpful you are.:yes:youve already been whooped.yall aint saying nothing. barely anybody is tackling any topics on yall end. its mostly cheerleading & chit talking.and when yall do try to say something, you have to move the goal posts.never saw it.i remember wutang already being washed by the time that movie came out tho.word?what lines were aimed at rza? i think i have an idea. its prolly the lines that i thought assumed were aimed at dj paul & juicy j.

are we seriously using this card?

bone thugs were known before they came out?

we gonna act like eazy-e wasnt semi-blackballed at the time?

we gonna act like wutang didnt have their own primetime mtv special before their album even started selling?

we gonna act like wutang didnt have alot more promotion, exposure & propaganda behind them than bone thugs?

we gonna act like bone thugs werent getting slighted by the media their whole career? the same media that worshipped wutang?

bone thugs were the ones at disadvantage in this race buddy. AND THEY STILL WON.

I remember the MTV special! You know the back story behind it? I remember thinking it was odd at the time, but the Wu were huge in NY in 1993 and MTV was based in NY.

Both groups were well promoted.

These are all during the "washed up" era

I'm sure Bone has some hardware from their washed up years but I wouldn't know.

And Dirty's second album was big too.
