Wu made it to that next level i.e PE and Run DMC......Bone kinda just came with a bang and went out with a fizzle. No one gives a damn about Bone anymore.

i always laugh when people say this on here, seeing that this criticism applies moreso to wutang than it does to bone seeing that bone actually stayed relevant musically longer.

bone has successful singles and a successful album in recent years. cant say that for wutang. plus, wutang fell to the wasteside before bone in the early '00s as well.

wutang always had their business together so they did a better job at branding themselves as icons. but thats really neither here nor there in discussions like these.

and wutang is not no run dmc or public enemy. comparing wutang's group discography to those groups is a joke.

Wu had their run but they were extremely overrated and I'm a NY, they never was on the level of Bone, point blank period

exactly. im from the 2nd biggest wutang city on the planet, but i realize that the vast majority of the country was riding with bone more than them, despite the fact that bone had less promotion & exposure.

Probably the reason that Wu still headlining major musical festivals/concerts, still put out critically acclaimed albums, got their members placed in GOAT MC lists regularly, get name dropped and placed on tracks with some of todays biggest artists, and gets respect from hood dudes, white boys, nerds, hipsters and all in between. Meanwhile Bone is doing big things like...ummmmmm.....like.............ehhhhhhhh...........

wutang's group catalog doesnt really stack up to bone's. btnh clearly had a better catalog of albums, songs & singles as a group. plus they were clearly more influential. and their success rate was more impressive than wutang's as well.

You talk about local tracks, and then precede that with mentioning a bunch of Bone's own local tracks as HITS? It's hilarious how dude can speak with no objectivity and just put their personal opinion as fact. Thuggish Ruggish Bone, 1st of the Month, Crossroads, and maybe Notorious Thugs are the only songs on that list that could be described as a hit, unless the new definition of hit is "song that I loved"

No one is really bumping either now a days. They're both groups who've been around for around 20 years.

Again, you're inaccurate and prove again, why you should not be in threads posting paragraphs filled with tripe. Nobody knows 95% those Bone songs you listed other than Bone Thugs fans. They had 2 or 3 HUGE hits. That's it. The others were just bangers, just like Wu got bangers. Stop acting like those other joints are BIG BillBOARD smashing hits when they are far from. And I spent my teens in the 90's and was in the military. Traveled all over the US. Met people of all walks of life that could recite Wu songs, and were fans. Big fans. Nobody is denying that Bone Thugs SOLD more records than Wu, but that don't mean shyt. Wu are the better group. They resonated then, and they resonate now. Wacky, where are Bone NOW? What influence do they have on the game NOW? What did they do, other than sell records, that made them bigger game changers than Wu, THEN and NOW? You can't answer accurately. Most of these cats are trolling and are cats that hate Wu for whatever reason. Wacky D is just a drunk fool usually in some stupor, he should not be taken seriously 95% of the time. And yea, it's funny that Bone have so many of these BIG, GRAND HITS but all I keep ever seeing on these songs posted are songs that NOBODY other than Bone stans would list as hits and a BIGGIE song (which he smashed Bone on) and a Mariah Carey track. These brehs angry as fukk that Wu are better, made the bigger impact and still have some sort of relevancy.

No doubt. The "shtick" aspect to Bone is something that is criminally being overlooked in this thread. I like Bone, but people need to realize that one of the main reasons, if not THE MAIN reason that they sold much more than Wu is because their style is more susceptible to be embraced by a pop audience. they're rappers/singers. You're not gonna catch Raekwon on a track or Masta Killa on a track harmoizing about missing his "uncle charlesssss ya'lllll". Wu, especially in the 90's, is hip hop music at it's rawest form. Raw, street raps, filled with 5% ideology and slang, over raw, sampled based beats. shyt like that don't break Billboard records. Never will. But Wu sold because they were a movement. A dynasty. 9 talented MC's from the most obscure portion of NYC, with an eclectic mix of MC skill, hypnotizing mystique and charisma. Again...Bone is dope, but Wutang was better then and are better now.
