Fell off?!
I’m bout to pick up where I left off!!
Like when cuz used to front me that whip.. got it the hell off
Took that bullshyt to the block.. and went the hell off
It even left a scent on my jeans, can't get the smell off
And to move this, you gotta be QUICK - or it'll melt off
And you're stuck with eggnog in the bag and it won't sell off
Sell off? - yeah, I doubt that it'll sell off
Every nikka ya sell it to, will call ya till ya turn ya cell OFF
And everyday I’m stuck in this hell, can't get the hell off
Back then, they wasn’t wishin me well - wanted my well off
Nikkas tryna steal all my clients, turn my tel’ off
Won't be happy till I put up my bags and turn my scale OFF
So I grind till my batteries low.. and my scale OFF
So I guess I'm stuck flippin these words, until I'm well off
That money's like a movie, it's something you gotta SEE
You just can't SAY you real, it's something you gotta BE, 103!!!

Man that shyt was so fukkin hard back then man :whew:.

Music really marks time because I literally remember every single thing I was doing while riding to this shyt. shyt was my financial prime and I had cribs cars and bytches everywhere.

God damn man, the Jeezy era was a lot of our primes. I'm an 04 graduate so I was around 19 when he first got the scene. Then I had Banks for the punchline shyt, man that was a golden ass time for music.

Probably the only period where you had every single style of hip hop eating on the radio. Probably the most diverse time of hip hop imo.

It aint got to be super lyrical. I agree with this. Everyone isn't Rakim or G rap, but it definitely has to be better than that bullshyt bar you posted. I remember when Jeezy dropped. It was maybe 2 months before I finally heard a song. I kept hearing everyone talking about him so I finally downloaded a track and thought it was a goddamn joke. At this point, I knew hip hop was in a place that was long gone from the 80s and 90s. I've always thought he was garbage. Dope beats, but that's all anyone cares about now anyway. Here we are about 19 years later, Thug Motivation 101 doesn't get the props TODAY as DangerDoom or Be (though it was more popular than the 2 back then). That Def Jam marketing machine is a mf.

This nikka said a certified hip hop classic doesn't get the attention of some shyt NOBODY has ever heard of 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

TM101 is literally a period of life for MILLIONS of people in America. Any nikka that was over 12/13 around 05 knows how impactful that album was. If you were fresh out of high school like I was, that shyt was played for hundreds of hours with everybody knowing every single word.

This was in every hood in the country, not just Detroit and Atlanta.

Breh blowed as fukk with that bullshyt lol

"Got 2 stripes, nikka dodging 1 time/
This is real life you got the nerve to call it punchlines"

Sometimes that straight forward style just works when you're talking that talk. Ironically, Jeezy got MORE lyrical over the years but that didn't translate to the music being better.

Lmao. Breh, I'm a hip hop head and I assume the BE shyt he is talking about is the fukking Common album with "Are you living in a dream world, is your eyes still green girl" song on it. Come Close was the name of the track.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 In what fukkin world was BE a bigger album than TM101.

And I say that as a Common fan. I love the super lyrical nikkas, but fukking Common doesn't register when it comes to entertainment.

DETROIT (Do Every Thing Right Or It's Trouble)
I always rocked wit nikkas like Banks and Fab and Gza and Ghost face, and Scarface, and Canivus and ect.

But when Young Jeezy hit the scene, that shyt was legendary. I was always a fan of prime 50, so that grimey hustler shyt always got me rocking. That deep and dark NY lyricism probably ended its peak around that time, but dudes like Jeezy and TI filled that gap perfectly imo.

IDGAF what any nikka says, Jeezy was creative and clever with his trap music, and I don't think that shyt was ever topped in that style. I also think Jeezy, TI, and Young Buck was the best shyt coming out of the South. Everything was energetic and got your body rocking , with each artist presenting a different style.

Even with the differences, I think that period of music was legendary.

From your hood, what was the vibe?
GZA got a daughter in Detroit
