The facts are the facts.
Israel was ready for a two-state solution.
Arab nations wouldn't entertain it and declared war on Israel.
Israel staved off the Arab nations and came out of the war with more land.
But beside all that, the British mandate gave Israel ownership of the land. That's fact.
Of which the British received from the Ottoman empire who previously controlled the region. Which is also fact.
The idea of a self-autonomous, self-ruling Palestine with a distinct identity and culture did not exist.
So-called Palestinians were just inhabitants of the land and from what I hear, many of them were originally from Egypt and Jordan.
I will even concede that some of them are native to the area.
But if we want to go there, in referencing Biblical history, they would be descendants of Canaanites.
But even Canaan was not a self-autonomous, self-ruling area with a distinct identity and culture.
It was made up of multiple tribes with their own cultures and even then did not identify themselves as Canaanites.
Which was a biblical name that historically referenced the area and caught on by the surrounding kingdoms.
And during that time, Canaan was lorded over by the Egyptians whose empire extended to Southern Turkey.
The *right* solution was to create one Israeli state and then integrate the self-identified Palestinians.
But of course, the issue is Islam.
So the next option was a two-state solution in which the Arab nations rejected.
So at this point, I'm like its whatever.

To be fair, that’s not the point of contention is it? Isn’t it merely that it was never a self ruling Palestinian state for nearly 500 years prior to Israel?this analysis has no mention of what happened in the British Mandate, no mention of the Israeli sabotaging of Oslo, a military occupation of 56 years, a system of apartheid being implemented.
The lazy “oh Islam” is so ignorant.
You still a racist imperialistic, and probably white, bytchHere's some attention.
I agree with Bill Maher 100%.
The peace/land deal is never going to get as good for the Palestinians as it was in years past. Imagine how strong their bargaining position would be today if they had taken the deal in 1947....the Arabs went to war and lost. Israel will never give back land gained through war...those who disagree are free to start another war.
I'm getting close believing these people don't want peace. They have fumbled the bag way too many times on the negotiation table.
'Yesterday's price is not today's price'...
they're just gaining all kinds of support lately, huh
