I honestly feel that upper class blacks should distance themselves...it would be good for black folks as a whole. It was the same speech black elitist have been giving poor black people since the beginning of time out of shame,in hopes to get that pat on the head by creating distance between themselves and poor blacks, FOR CACS.....Give black folks some credit,we don't get mad at every black person who criticizes us,but I think we can feel the difference in a speech given out of love, and in hopes for a better understanding....And the disgusting shyt that Cosby was spewing, the "acceptable negro" Cosby types are the white mans number one ally for a reason...Even J Edgar Hoover knew "responsible/acceptable negroes" would be the most useful in discrediting blacks he found "unacceptable".....After years of not publically taking strong stances on race relations,he decides to come out STRONG against black people and say "We gotta stop blaming white people and the government yall"....Where was you at with all these strong stances back when there was no way you couldn't blame white people and the government because they was on record saying "fukk yall ******s"?Where was Cosby at back then to talk that tough shyt.?
Just tellin u why I feel he was c00nin
But maybe Cosby was right, cant blame the cac media and the justice system for his actions, maybe he should plead guilty and take responsibility
Maybe not distance themselves...but have a standard of conduct.
We need to see oursevles as leaders and people running shyt...were too happy w/ the hood mentality and asking white people to respect us.
Thats all I really got out of Cosby's speech...we need to take control of our lives...we are too happy w/ bullshyt...we have no control because we arent focused on it.
So personally...I like when there is a cat like Cosby out there not scared of the backlash from his own people.
