finally saw this yesterday and i like it.

the opening scene was a little confusing but makes sense now. hopefully they make a sequel and get some answers out of the engineers:yes:

Saw this today and I loved it. The imax experience was worth it, but fukk all these movies coming out in 3d shyt is unnecessary. I'm also confused about the opening scene but I still can't wait for the sequel. The visuals :wow:

The robot wasnt even fukkin with Weyland like that. He knew hed probably get merked off and just walked him to his doom so he could be his own man(robot). Probably assumed he could just get in the ship and do whatever the fukk he wanted after kissing brownosing those engineers.
David said something about how he has already met his creator and wasn't impressed. I think our assumption is that our creator is going to be infinitely good and wise and maybe they aren't.. (the engineer beats him to death and rips davids head off) But david HAD to follow his orders.

Thats what I said. Weyland created him and he said he wasn't impressed by him plus Weyland would shyt on him for not being able to be a "real" son

I don't think he really liked any human, probably wanted to kill all humans, either he just wanted that Noomi Rapace bytch to rescue him by agreeing to fly her off the planet or he ended up liking her for some reason. He really wanted her to get back to earth when she got impregnated tho, probably wanted to unleash the xenomorph so it can merk the human race

Yea they'll probably be playing a chess match in the next film(s). Shes gonna have to put his bytch ass back together again to help her out and then shes gonna have to avoid more of his tricks to kill her. Hopefully that Xenomorph that they left on the planet doesnt learn how to fly one of them ships or impregnate another sleeping engineer.

The only question i do have about this film is. Why do you think the engineers were sleeping?

He does have some level of fascination for her. It's unclear who else's dreams he watches, but his whole thing with her cross, watching her dream, etc, was them trying to show that her faith and character intrigues him more as the movie goes on, and he comes to respect her toughness, too. Also remember that he saves her from being blown off the ship during the storm.

The robot is a damn devil. Him taking that cross was symbolic. Trying to show her. *look, your god is abandoning you*. It wasnt contaminated like that. Her taking it back in the end was also symbolic. The moral of this story is dont trust trillionares and dont trust AI.

Well remember how those engineers ran into that room where they were sleeping and one got his head chopped off by the door? Its clear they were being chased by something that was going to kill them (some people think they lost control of their black goo stuff and were running from a xenomorph) so I think they went to sleep to try to survive and maybe someone would come help them? then the engineer wakes up greeted by a bunch of humans and david a "synthetic" (no DNA) lifeform asking for life for weyland.

You're right. I don't know why he would respect blind faith though.

I don't think its that simplistic.

remember in the dream her father said something like "it doesn't matter if its real, as long as you believe in it" or whatever.

And there are some conflicting messages, I'll post more thoughts tomorrow. tired.

The android was more amoral than immoral. He had his own set of ethics that expressed themselves more as the film went on.

You're right, he took her cross partially as a comment on faith, but that's part of his character for a reason- he knows who his creators are, and they aren't particularly impressive. He knows he's smarter, stronger, etc, than a human, and has real curiosity and a personality, but is treated like a servant, and furthermore, has to watch them act like the clowns that humans can sometimes be. Plus he is told that the only reason we created him is because "we could." Naturally, he finds human faith in a benevolent creator and a meaning/purpose of life strange and takes some vengeful pleasure in mocking it, because he sees how absurd it can be from his own experience.

I'm not sure he respects the blind faith so much as finds it fascinating. It's her toughness he respects, since she goes through hell through the film, losing her husband, having a crazy alien pregnancy, fighting an engineer, escaping the tentacle monster, seeing all the other humans die, etc, though arguably her strength is connected to her faith, which is shown when she takes her cross back from him at the very end.

There is that line in Alien made by the AI guy about the Xenomorph being the perfect creature, having no delusions of morals, a survivor.

Maybe its not surprising the Engineers reacted in such a way. The engineers are so advanced, talking to a human would be like talking to an infant, but not a sweet innocent infant, an intellectual infant capable of extreme evil and depravity.

:laff: rippin that faggit androids head off and giving weyland a Wile Coyote knot on his head. :skip: I dont get it though. Why go to sleep waiting for someone to come rescue you. Once he woke up, he targetted earth and looked like he was back on his grind of paying earth a visit. Why wait for someone to wake you up for that.

Thats why i think humans finding them is like letting him know that they are ready for the next phase. *going to their planet and evolving them * or *turning them into a weapon* Like a egg timer. Create humanity, let them bubble, when they find you, ding. *returns to earth* I dont know though. That part about it is what makes no sense. WHY THE fukk DID YOU GO TO SLEEP!!!!:damn:
