Welcome aboard, friend

But there was more then 1 ship on that planet..........
Its interesting how the black shyt effects things differently, like your intentions changed how it effected you. In the very beginning that engineer drinks it and it disassembles his dna and he falls into the waterfall but when that geologist nikka had it he turned into a murderous monster. What if they intended to send Jesus to purify the intentions and souls of the human race in an effort to use the goo to evolve them but then they crucified him
I give up thinking about this shyt..
edit:edited it slightly
While we're theorizing, what if the "why" questions we're asking aren't deep at all and they just made the humans because "they can" (as david says) and used them as some sort of science experiment, and wanted to use the goo on them just to see what would happen. why else would they have a huge stockpile of that shyt in ships
movie is a fukking headache tryna make it make sense
And if you want to think ahead to the next movie, there could be some sort of galactic conflict the engineers would need a weapon for (using the Xenomorph) ridley scott is going to take the sequel into a totally diff directionYea they got to different habital planets and make humans and experiment on them for kicks trying to create the perfect species.

Indeed..Even though I really enjoyed this movie I feel like if it was a DIRECT prequel people would've overall enjoyed it better, I don't understand why they couldn't have done a direct prequel, and then branched out away from the typical Alien universe and explore the engineer society and the bigger galactic picture. They had all those planets mapped out on their little grid. Those could have been all of the charted planets where they created other life forms.
fukk I'm even more confused now.I think we're getting somewhere. The goop evolves what is in the heart of the person so in the example of Christ, if he could effect humanity as a whole then humanity could evolve to a higher stage of conciousness when they are exposed to the goop.
I dont know what that says about the thing that woman got impregnated with though. I guess its a *transitional form* I know the sequels arent going to be nearly this thought out.
I think this movie ties in with the predator timeline in Aliens vs Predator. What if the Engineers were at war with the predators and created the xenomorphs as a biological weapon against them but it backfired. The engineers running in the hologram looked like they were running from something trying to get to that room where their "weapons" were. That would also explain the pile of dead engineers the two cacs found.
Think about it they were meant to go back 2000 years ago but diddn't make it. that would tie in with the whole pyramid built by the predators on earth 2000 years ago. They were on there way to handle business and go attacked before they were able to go. The only survivor managed to seal himself off in that room and go to sleep.
We have to keep i mind that her man was a prick. We never got to see how far that goop was going to effect him but he was clearly out of his rabid ass mind from the short time he was exposed to it. I think if you are exposed to the goop through sex then you give birth to a face hugger who then gives birth to the new life form. I dont think you can get to a new life form without a face hugger.fukk I'm even more confused now.
The impregnation thing has me buggin, because, does a face hugger always come as a result of black goo contact with a human? I had the idea that the Xenomorph is born from the inherent sin of humans...but those engineers were theoretically attacked by a xenomorph and they had paintings of a xenomorph in that room with the big head. Maybe the black goo acted on her in such a way because 1. She had sex with a guy who was infected with it and 2. She wasn't able to have human babies and that was a big hole in her life that she dwelled on a lot. Also why did the xenomorph look different from the fully evolved one in Alien? fukk there are just so many questions.

So they were heading to earth 2000 years ago before they went to sleep? happened then?
