Well, women actually do play football which is LFL. Softball just water-down of baseball but the same concept. Unsure about hockey. Women do play soccer.

And Baseball, Soccer, Hockey, NFL didn't even have a woman ref in those sports. But NBA actually have a ref woman.

It seems why is it only NBA sport allowed this happen?

I dunno....I feel like they are treated NBA like kids that you have to listen their adults and follow the rules, etc.

Think about NFL, MLB, MLS, NHL coaches usually talk trash, fight, at their opponent team.

Now picture this woman become a coach/manager in NHL, MLS, MLB, NFL that talk trash at another coach or players?....shyt aint work cause these women would more likely to caught the feelings like


But in the NBA....they gonna have big trouble if any players talk trash to a female coach. They already did to a female ref and he got trouble for that. It seems to me they changed the NBA everything. It easier to control them than other sports.

I'm not against a having a women coach, but I can't see how getting one matters, or rather represents some injustice. This isn't comparable to Black coaches/FOs because black folk dominate the playing ranks, so their omission is glaring

LFL is something people bring up but its got less development than some roller derby associations. Only reason it gets the talk it does is because of the obvious marketing - not to knock the people participating, but a high profile novelty is still a novelty.

Softball is different than baseball. Even the ways you manage players is pretty far off... Hockey? Sure - but that's an old boys club up there with NASCAR that people are just now starting to ask questions about. That conversation is never happening because diversity is the farthest thing from everyone's mind in Hockey. shyt, they're still baffled anytime a black player is on the court.

so out of all of that, men's and women's basketball are the most similar up to the highest level at least. Also, there have been women coaching d-league teams as well.

I just don't get the whole "what if they don't get along shyt" when these guys are making millions of dollars to be professional. The ones that lose their shyt now are lames for it and if they lose their shyt later because of a skirt they'd still be lames.

Just like when the whole Clippers roster was bytching about that female ref when there's tons of other shyt refs all across the league. They still some crying chumps at the end of the day.

the lack of african americans in more lucrative positions (in a league being 75% black) is far more important than a lack of female coach (in a league where 0% of the players are females). That's my opinion. Like i said it's great having a women as a head coach, but more things should be a bigger priority.

I think its unrealistic to expect the demographics of coaching and GM positions to match the demographics of the player pool.

The vast majority of people trying to get jobs in basketball (playing, coaching, and front office) are white. There are tons of people out there with incredible understanding of the game but just didn't have the height or athleticism to play at the highest level and that goes for all races.

The shytty part is that a lot of people have stereotyped black coaches as being anti analytics and x's and o's and when people for guys like Mark Jackson and Mike singletary, it only fuels that. They're just as bad as the people who say Tebow didn't get a fair chance.

NFL's had a female ref since 2015. Just not really a huge deal made about it.

Agreed. It also seems to totally ignore the fact that there are hella dudes coaching women's basketball on the high school, college, pro, and international level.

It's kind of weird when people suddenly play dumb about it too, because whenever this comes up, you're guaranteed to hear "how is a woman going to deal with being a men's locker room? How would that even work? How would that be appropriate?", when we've seen it work the other way for as long as we can remember.
